Have a 6' brush hog. It doesn't say the name on it. I can't find a gear box to fit it. Bought one but the splines didn't match. Not sure where to look to fix it. Any ideas?

Omni Gear may make one that will work.

If the standard shaft doesn't fit, find the right size gearbox, then contact them about custom shafts as mentioned in the downloadable brochure.

I always thought if it had a stump jumper it was a brush hog. If it dont have one its a stalk cutter.

Not necessarily. Brush hog is just a generic name for a rotary cutter, some of which have a stump jumper (i.e., a blade PAN) and some of which have a blade BAR.

Can't read the lettering on the sides, but it has "Cutter" there.

The three point hookup is unique, someone will recognize it.

Not really. Bush Hog is a brand name of a manufacturer of implements, the most well known of which is a rotary cutter.

I know that. But "brush hog" (lower case and with an "r" to make it "brush" instead of "bush") is just a generic term that people use for almost any rotary cutter regardless of brand name. I know that it is a great source of irritation to the Bush Hog folks, and causes even more consternation among their lawyers, but it is fairly common parlance these days.

Big Bee Rotary Cutter is your answer. I don't know much about them other than this is their heavy duty version.

The correct term for all of these mowers regardless of brand name is "rotary cutter" or "rotary mower". The term coined "brush hog" is because people use them in literally the brush. Bush Hog is a brand and people commonly call their King Kutter a bush hog. Not all mowers are created equal and I believe Bush Hog is the top of the line. Followed by the likes of Woods and Hardee. Countyline (tractor supply), King Kutter, Howse, and the likes are just economy mowers not meant to take a beating.
