CK30 broke......

Well, after 9 years and 4,484 hrs., my hard working CK30 shuttle locked in reverse on a job site while mowing. The only way I could get it to go forward was to put everything in neutral and idle or shut it off, it would go in reverse gear real easy but forward.....forget it! So I finally managed to get it on the trailer and home. Off the trailer the next day and into the garage, pulled the tranny drain plug and found a piece of metal on the magnet. Took the shift cover off and started looking for where this came from. Discovered it's a synchronizer key (one of three) had come out and the other two looked like they were about ready to, but still not sure why the shuttle shift ring would lock in reverse. Managed to get the key back in place (PITA). So I'm going to put a new shift fork in just because it's got some wear and it might be slightly bent and also replace the clutch assembly along with the clutch lever (when I have time). In the mean time, I needed a tractor so I can get all my work done and finish the season, so to make a long story short, I went down and bought a Mahindra 2555 and have all ready put 52 hrs. on it, we'll see if it holds out thru the long, hard days as well as my Kioti does/did!

What is the life expectancy of a compact tractor? You have worked that little tractor.

With that being said sounds like you have got you a step up in tractor. The mahindra should reach and get it compared to your ck30.

What are you going g to do with the Kioti?

Gonna keep and repair the Kioti , put it back to work on the smaller jobs (acre or less), not time to put him "out to pasture" and the wife likes driving it on jobs!
