Kubota fixed pricing?

All of those include the 3pt kit. The only one that includes loaded tires, at least right now, is the first quote. Pretty sure it won't cost $2k to load the little rears!! But yes, those things are on my final check list for sure. Going to talk to the local dealer tomorrow morning, will let you know what comes from that.

For the price of loaded tires vs the little added weight you are better to use that money on suitcase weights. Then you can add it in 50# increments to match loads on the FEL. Thats what I did at approx $1/# for the weights from Home Depot on-line store. I made a rack that attaches to my QH to hold them. Now working on a similar rack for the front I have the best of all worlds.

Thats true, they do come as a unit. You paid 17,500 with no mower deck, But, The dealer I went to considered the front end loader as a implement, and I got the 54"mmm as the second implement plus I got the 3pt hitch kit to boot for 17,800. Dont ask me how he did this or why, but I have the paperwork that shows this and if I had a scanner to post a picture, I would. How else can you explain me getting a BX25D for 17,800?
If you say it I believe it. You got a fantastic deal, maybe the dealer was drunk  but you did great, :cool2:

With the FEL and BH I didn't add weighted tires and have never seen a need to. The BH is pretty heavy and doubt the rear would ever lift up with what the BH counter weight is providing due to lift capability of the FEL.
I bought the 3ph kit on my first BX25 and one came with my B2620 FEL BH and never installed the arms on either one so did not buy the kit this time. If I ever need it Barlows is down the road and his price will be the same except for inflation. I've never removed BH on any machine I've owned that has a BH.

John and Others,

If I had more than one tractor I would probably leave the BH on all the time also. I use my BX for so many different things I am constantly connecting and disconnecting implements. Hence, why I have the QH. Many times I wish for two tractors but economics prevail in my case. I now have 10 implements w/o counting the FEL and BH. I am building more; current project is a 20K log splitter to work vertical and horizontal. It is the start of a semi fire wood processor, building as I go. I just bought the FEL QH to expedite changing attachments at that location. This weekend I am looking at a front subframe/QH kit that a guy has for $300; that opens some more possibilities.

My little Tonka Toy continues to amaze me as I approach 1500 hrs in the last 4 years.

So I got a call from the second dealer just checking to make sure I got his quote and see if I had any questions. I really like his attitude, no sales pressure and very appreciative for the chance to have my business. Told him I was still thinking about it.

Called the first dealer left him a message. Didn't hear back. Called back around 4 and got a hold of him and told him the 2 other quotes I had gotten and if there is anything he can do. Just flat out NO! Our prices are set by Kubota and we try to make for it with our service blah, blah, blah. No, we aren't the cheapest game in town but take it or leave it.

Basically makes it sound as though they won't service the tractor under warranty if I don't buy it from them. Is that how it is in the tractor industry? What if I had bought it and moved here, would they still have the same attitude? Now the other dealer is an hour plus south so it's not very convenient to go to them for service. My wife works for Ford and it's like them saying we won't work on your truck because you bought it from another dealer even though we are and authorized facility.

So, called the second dealer back and told him the other lower quote and asked if he had any room or if that's his bottom line. Said his sales manager was out, it was about 4:45 on a friday, and he would have to ask on Mon and get back. Bottom line is that he's $1400 less for the same package as dealer 1 and even with the 48" box scraper he is still about $750 less than dealer 1.

So is that how tractor dealers work or is this guy just being an a$$h@le? At this point I don't want to deal with the local guy at all, but will wind up having to get parts and fluids from them simply due to logistics.

Will keep posted on what happens on Mon.

Some tractor places try to not service a machine if it was not bought there, or put it to the back of the list. The warranty is good at any Kubota dealer so if that is the dealers attitude I would try to avoid doing business with him. The good thing is the majority of Kubota's don't have much if any warranty work done so it may not be a big deal. There is several threads on here about this warranty stuff if you have a few minutes to kill.
As for the pricing, I personally would get it from the dealer you like and be done with it. A good dealer goes a long ways!
Good luck on your search!

Buy from the dealer who is treating you well during the sale. The local guy is being awful difficult for someone trying to earn business.

In my area we have three dealers within 30 miles. One of the three will negotiate on the prices ... the other two are retail only....... and are noted for being pissed about the guy that will dicker.

The lowest price isn't the best price and too much haggling can ruin future deals. Buy from the guy that treated you nice and sort-of has pretty good price. Too much haggling can screw up future deals and people won't want to give you prices because they know you'll keep coming back for more. A guy has to earn a living to stay in business and neither the low nor low price is conducive to company survival. Just my opinion over a number of tractors and lots of dealers.

I mostly agree. My local dealer told me a few weeks ago that Kubota makes it pretty plain to their dealers that they HAVE to do warranty work on any Kubota to keep their franchise. Scheduling can be harder to nail down so the butt hole dealer can manipulate that part but they will never be to successful in business doing it and all machines go out of warranty eventually.
Best dealer with decent price is the guy. Maintenance parts can be ordered on line or picked up when your ever near another dealer, surely you or friend or family travels some. :) Motor oil can be bought any where as long as it's for diesel engine and filters aren't heavy for mailing and HST fluid isn't changed very often. Grease can be bought almost any where or ordered on line or on the phone. Maintenance items should be the least of your concerns. Parts items that are uncommon are usually ordered from Kubota warehouse by dealers as needed which you can do from many dealers online or on the phone and probably get the part quicker than waiting on your dealer to order and get it any way.

Many dealers on this forum and they've never disputed the info I've provided. Kubota decides what equipment to send to a dealer, mostly, to stock on their lot. Dealers can order a specific machine for a specific person which is considered sold when it's shipped or obtained from another dealer. He some times gets tractors he doesn't want but that's the advantage of a Kubota Franchise.

Okay, I'll correct you. Kubota does not decide what to send us. We order every piece. Our terms can vary but generally we get free floor plan for 6-12mo before a unit starts to draw interest. So there is some expense to our inventory but not much if your smart about it. We are not just sent tractors based on sales history. Its also not considered 'sold' on a dealer transfer or even retail sale, you get shorter terms.. but its not sold until your paid by the customer.
