Ceiling fans should be a good test with the vibration cycles.

SMUD (Northern California) has a LED promotion going currently at Home Depot. Two Phillips 60 watt equivalents, 8.5 watts actual, for $5.

I bought several, and I like them. Instant on and decent color. Not dimmable.

8.5 watts is the least consumption I've seen so far for 800 lumens, equivalent to 60 watt incandescent.

That is a very good price...

I was at Costco today and bought one of the $32 LED two bulb 4' fixtures with bulbs...

Next to the display they were selling just the LED bulbs in a 2 pack for $34.

'two bulb 4' fixture' ?? Like for 4 ft fluorescent tubes except slender LED's?

What I found @ 2/$5 was normal 60w bulb shape.

Yes... 4' fluorescent tubes except instead of fluorescent they are LED.

I bought one complete fixture to give it a try.

So far all of the CREE LED bulbs I bought have been flawless... they did average about $8 a 60w bulb 20 months ago

Your recent purchase is nearly 1/3 the price.

I want one! Please keep us updated re how well it works.

Suitable for a kitchen?

I would be interested in hearing how these work out as well. So far so good on all of my Cree bulbs.

It's a basic 4' shop light with a cord and comes with 2 lengths of chain to hang if desired...

I just grabbed it on impulse... Costco did have one powered about the display and it looked just like a typical T8

Two T8 use about 64 watts at 32 per bulb... the box for the LED states the following...

Instant Brightness, No Hummin, 38 watts, 3700 Lumens, 50,000 hours, 4000k cool white, lasts 45 years and saves $275 in energy costs.

After the contacts in my twin lamp halogen work light got scorched and died, I started looking at Ebay, Harbour Freight, etc. for a replacement. I needed something now and Lowe's prices were pretty much in line so I stopped by there today. After talking with the person in the lighting area, I decided to try an LED work light. I bought a single lamp with the simple stand. I had saved the adjustable stand from my twin light and the LED fit on it just fine. Like a flat screen TV, the lamp is so much smaller so I should not be bumping into it when the area I am in is tight. I am looking forward to trying it on some walls I am prepping for paint tomorrow. It will be nice to not be "melting" from the 500W halogen heat. I had it on briefly but did not look at the TV for interferance. Have to check that out.
