The specs are 63-67 dBA. The Kohler spec says the quietest competing systems are 58-63.
We mounted ours on the far side of the garage (that's where the fuel was) and with the windows closed on that side of the house you don't really hear it at all. If I had to do it over I wouldn't change a thing.

If you think of it, drop by and post your next fill up, and a brief description of what loads you support. I'm probably not the only one interested to see some real world #'s on propane consumption.
For intermittent use, propane or natgas are great in that they don't have the long-term stability issues that untreated gasoline does.
dBA figures are nice, but I wish more people would talk through the running equipment videos they post on youtube. I find that you can get a pretty good ballpark feel for how loud the gen is when you have 2 people standing beside it talking.
