How does independent action help? Indeed, how do two jaws help (compared to a single half width jaw)?

This is why the 72" is such a good fit for larger tractors. It wouldve been difficult carrying the stump mainly but it was nice having the width for the long logs also. The stump was enough to get my 9500lb+ tractor light in the rear. The BB is only about 1k and I have loaded rears.

1) even the lightest duty grapple is made of far sturdier material than even a heavy duty standard bucket. Nobody "breaks" grapples trying to lift heavy loads.

2) you can use a one ton grapple if you want but your net lift capacity will always be lower with a larger grapple than with smaller.

3) the risk with carrying a very large log or tree is not the weight but rather the twisting force if you don't grapple at midpoint or if you move too quickly or hit an obstruction on one side while moving. The twisting force is as likely to damage the FEL as the grapple and frankly if one has to give I'd rather it be the grapple. Way easier to repair or replace.

Our Wicked Grapples range from 255 pounds up to a whopping 435 pounds currently.

Customers can go wide if that's their preference and still maintain much of their lift capacity.

Some of your replies have indeed made me more open minded concerning grapple width.

I still need to attach the third function you sent. I've just been so busy cleaning up the 3540 to get it up for sale.

This grapple should be a game changer for me.

I have become beset with grapple envy.
I've tried to follow the "how big" and read some like it small, others like it big.


(How did he get a 9500lb tractor? tractordata.com lists it at 5500 lbs, do loaded tires, cab and FEL add 4k lbs?)

I just weighted my tractor with the box blade and gravel. Truck and trailer are 15980. Truck, trailer and tractor were 27000

I'm surprised it's that heavy
