Dealer charge for transport

/ Dealer charge for transport #11
Thanks guys... Very reasonable! My dealer hit me with $255 transport charge and I am only 3 miles away (that's three miles... pretty much walking distance) I thought that was totally unreasonable, especially since he did not tell me ahead of time.

I have a trailer and I have learned anything less than 7 or so miles I am quicker just to drive my tractor. Figure hitching up, strapping down, ect takes a good 20 minutes if I'm lucky. Usually twice that. My tractor runs at 25 mph and 15 to 20 comfortably so 7 miles is easily done in that time or less.

My dealer is free both ways for warranty work.

Four years ago my dealer installed a FEL on my tractor. At that time they charged a flat $30 per delivery one way up to 30 miles. I'm around 17 miles one way. Total was $60. More than fair to me. I do know that this spring their service special included pick up and delivery with no charge. I don't know the mileage restrictions.

As far as warranty work I do not know their policy. My 1720 is a 1999 model and a sticker placed on it states that warranty does not include transportation. My tractor was sold by a different dealer.

That's exactly what I would do seppin my tractor isn't registered to drive on the road.

How much would it cost to register your tractor to drive on the road? Here in NC we don't have to register farm vehicles for the road. The only regulations I am aware of would be interstates.

No registration needed here in Indiana. Just a Slow Moving Vehicle triangle.

So glad I live where I do.
