OK, I'm officially jealous now. I want a 54" single top version 2. 37" opening is good and certainly adequate. I like the upgrade to 3/8" even though 5/16 has performed well. However, I need an excuse. My current 48" Millonzi works just fine even if it isn't nearly as pretty. I am particularly jealous of the beautiful lid you guys have developed. Best looking lid in the business.
Thanks! We love them too. Grapples are my favorite topic of conversation with customers and I rarely have to use persuasion when selling a Wicked Grapple!

I hope you guys increase the HP limit above 35 now.
Actually, the 50" Single Lid Wicked Grapple is the only one rated for 35hp and below.
Our 54" and up single and double lid models are safe on larger machines, even up to the mega compacts like Mr. Eric's NX6010 and Brett's 5055E Deere, although Brett's utility tractor is kind of a stretch  AND we know Eric uses his tractor like a full blown forestry machine, so double eek
Those grapples will also be a perfect match for Ted's new Kubota L6060 mega compact. Anything more than that, i'd want the Wicked Utility Grapple that we're currently developing.

Of course to justify a new grapple I would need to somehow break my current grapple and that has been hard to do.
Get to breaking! Just don't break the tractor because that would present another hurdle to overcome before we could send a Wicked Grapple your way!!

But I do love the look and specs of your new version 2. It comes pretty darn close, in 54" single lid dress, to being the Platonic Ideal of Grapple in my book.
Thanks! That means a lot. You've provided a tremendous amount of advice, and constructive criticism(which has been useful) during the development of our grapples and to the customers in the market for a grapple!

Travis, how much to upgrade my grapple with the new double acting rams?

Ted and I saw this question coming, but didn't really reach a definite answer concerning retrofitting.

Besides the larger cylinders, both the front and rear cylinder mounts are different. The mounts on the lid are aimed away from the tractor now, rather than toward it. The mounts on the grapple frame are a little taller.

I'll talk with Ted about this when I see him.

Ted really doesn't think it'd be worth it for someone to convert theirs, so he's not going to recommend it. The task wouldn't be very easy because it would involve cutting, welding and painting on top of the cost of new cylinder mounts and cylinders.

40-43 inches, no less. :)

We have a NH TL100A with a HD 84" dual lid grapple that is great for pushing down and picking dead trees but, want to look into a smaller grapple for our LS XR4046HC tractor. It is 46 HP and has 2500 lb. lift at pins. It will mainly be used for picking up brush and tree branches when we trim trees. I'm thinking 60" width (or narrower) but, want max jaw opening. What do you guys suggest?

I'd get the 54" version 2 single lid. My tractor is about the same size and lift capacity as yours.

Here's a new video from today that quickly highlights the changes on our NEW Version of the Wicked Grapple for Compact Tractors with 37" opening.

Ted basically goes over the changes in that video, so the most comprehensive video is still this original one:

Travis

I think increasing cylinder diameter from 2 inch to 2.5 inch actually increases clamping force by over 50%, rather than 20%, if anyone really cares.
