Zero Turn Mods

My question is... Why do you want lights on a lawnmower? You don't mow lawns in the dark because the grass is wet. Mowing wet grass is a big NO. My ONLY modification to my M60 Tank is a set of am/fm noise cancelling muffs.

Depends on the mower... I have often mowed after the dew has set or before it burns off.
Is it ideal? Not really, but after I am done, you would be hard pressed to tell that I had mowed it when it was damp.

Same here. I prefer not to mow when it's wet, but my grasshopper produces the same results wet or dry. A heavy dew or light rain keeps the under side of the deck really clean. Heavy rain creates more grass buildup under there. The worst thing about mowing when wet is that the wet grass sticks to everything (the mower and me), rather than blowing off when dry.

I like to mow in the late afternoon with temps in the upper 60's and humidity around 30%. Guess how often I have those favorable conditions. Working fulltime, weather and schedule conflicts force me to mow some times I'd rather not. A few years back I was working almost 2 hours from home. That Spring there were very few times I could mow in the daylight. If I retire maybe I can schedule things better.

The nice thing about these commercial grade zero turns is that they are made to be able to mow wet grass. The tip speeds are a lot higher and they are able to lift the wet grass blades and discharge them without any problem. The commercial guys just can't wait for the morning dew to dry off! I would agree that it's not the ideal situation, but when it's between taking up my whole Saturday and mowing during the week in the evenings after work, I'll take the evenings!

Wow that's awesome! Do you have any wiring schematics for this mod??

Going to attempt to Revive this thread - Has anyone attempted to make their front end's slightly independent. I am thinking this would greatly aid traction at the rear wheels. I am thinking of doing that to my Hustler over the winter months.

Iteresting. Are you thinking wishbone or strut or? I've seen a couple that have shocks in the front but sure that it's a actual independant.

Ferris mowers have models with front end only with suspension and also with full suspension. May want to at least look at their design.
