He probably meant the rockshaft arms. If you have Fast Hitch on it, it is a two way cylinder, so one side always acts as a reservoir, and shouldn't cause an overflow.

IMHO, there will be a small volume difference extended or not, even on DA due to rod diameter/displacement.

that's why i wouldn't fill one to the 'brim' anyway. takes very little oil to stroke those cylinders.

True. I usually try to fill it far enough I can touch the oil, measuring with the first joint of my pinky finger, down inside the reservoir. It allows for a bit of expansion also, after the oil warms up.
