New Holland 1725 with a bucket has always used 7-14 R1 Ag tires on the front. We are tired of flats (it is used in rough areas) and the weak sidewalls with a bucket loaded up.
Does anyone use R4's and do they fit the 7-14 rim so I can avoid new wheels?

Many thanks

All new rims will be necessary. You could go to a stronger AG. Firestone SAT II 8 ply would be gould. Run them at 35 psi for loader work. ... You will miss the AG traction if you change.

Sorry to be dense--is the Firestone suggested an AG R1 which wouldn't require new rims?

ply rating can make a huge difference. normally higher the ply rating of tire. the thicker the rubber and/or harder the rubber of the tire is. you more likely see higher ply ratings on industrial equipment. vs agriculture equipment.

radial vs bias tires. i completely forget the difference between the 2 tire types. i have not need to buy a new tire for some time (thankfully)

generally speaking switching between...R1 ag to R4 industrial or R3 turf tires = no go. rim widths are different.
switching between R4 to R3 tires is generally doable due to they normally use same rim width.

some folks go with "foam filled tires" removing flats all together.

an older thread of mine. might help ya some. *shrugs*

Thanks. Apparently Firestone makes an AG R1 with more pies and bias sidewalls. I will make some calls Tuesday. I am sure they won't be cheap but it will beat new rims and tires.

Thanks.

They may not offer the 8 ply in your size. But see what they can do for you. ... I overinflate my Titans for the heavy loader work on my 7520. They do fine at 1400 hrs. I plan to go to the SAT II in another yr or so.
