What do you do with your forks?

My pallet forks are my MOST used tool, that goes on my loader......

Pulling boulders out of hay fields,

geeeeeeze, I could go on and on and on! lol

Hey Sawyer Rob,

It looks like that "thumb" or grapple also does a lot for you, and looks like something we could use-may I ask where you did you pick it up?

From my ALO loader dealer...

The forks/grapple are designed to go together and a REALLY GOOD design they are!

I use them all the time, it's amazing what all can be done with a "properly designed" set up!

I use my forks for moving pallets, and rocks and stumps that don't fit it the grapple. I am also guilty of using then as a "man lift". Sometimes after the Kubota gives up I have to resort to a real fork lift.

Seems like almost any grapple fork combo would work well together, but my current problem is the lack of $ and of an extra hydraulic loop for their power source, barring using the curl function for both.

Just for reference, I did a diverter setup for about $300. Pretty good, I think.

Apparently NOT, the way some folks on this forum think you need a heavy multi arm grapple, to get anything done...

In my view, the only slightly sketchy thing about those pictures are the C-clamps holding the 2 frames together.

Can I ask what you repurposed those from?

Like I said, not enuff $$$ currently, and while I love tractor toys for the tractor, there be many other things needed more urgently than a 3rd fcn or grapple.

Besides then I gotta buy the grapple too.

The bottom basket began as the shipping pallet for a Woodmaxx hydraulic chipper. I worked great, but I needed more height. So made another one to bolt down on it. Then I decided that I liked having it be easily and quickly switched on and off so I went with four inch steel C Clamps. The lower pallet deck is milled douglas fir two by lumber.

The upper basket deck is one inch plywood. Both decks are bolted and nutted through the angle iron tray. Underneath the top deck, I have PT two by four on each side, screwed to the bottom of the upper deck. On top of the deck is one inch wood. SO, My clamp points are spread out considerably with the use of those two boards. It is strong as can be . Oh and I forgot to mention, I have foam rubber strip between the the top of the lower basket and the bottom of the upper basket. It all makes for a nifty install.

Thanks for the reply and the details, I wasn't really meaning to troll you about the construction, I'm just jealous and trying to figure out what I can use to make my own.

How about forks for donating an old TV to the local thrift store? It's a 34" flat screen and probably weighs 200#. I made a second trip and took the TV stand with a few extra things thrown inside.

You are lucky they will take that.
Around here the needy only want LCD's and thrift shops refuse all tube and projector types.
Our only option is the scrap yard.

I don't know if they want it or not but they have a room open 24 hours and you walk in and drop stuff off. I'm sure they get stuff they don't want.

By the time we put away our snowmobiles, the snow on the driveway is gone if not everywhere. We take the batteries out so they do not run. Our smaller sled has a studded track that tears up the trailer.

This sled is around 700 lbs, but must of the weight is in front. Standard forks were not quite long enough to pick it up. Bought some extensions which make the job easy.

Tractor is an L3200 with filled rears and a roughly 700# ballast box.
