It looks like the new F150 and a new Silverado HD had a baby! A lot of similarities to both truck in that body design.

I really like it.

Ha...agree

I just purchased a 2016 F350 Crew single platinum. The sticker was $71,000 I didn't pay that, but from what I was told the 17 super duty will be about 12,000 increase. I didn't believe it tell my uncle got a brand new 2016 F150 platinum with the aluminum body. He paid $65,000. I told him geez you paid more then I did for my f350 crew single platinum with the diesel. Thats why I went with this last year style vs waiting.

The Al is criticized, but every Super Duty around here that is 5 or more years old has the wheel arch rust. Most times the rest of the truck looks good otherwise. The new aluminum bodies could be a big improvement for those of us in the rust belt.

Hopefully the price will drop to something reasonable. They thrive on fleet sales, so I imagine they will maintain the work trucks at low pricing.

The wheel arch rust is a design/quality problem and not a steel problem. The engineers take shortcuts that favor cost savings over longevity in the salt belt. I would feel better about Ford's competence with aluminum if I hadn't seen so much failure in their use of the stuff over the past 14 years.

Me too... x3!

I must say, I do like the looks of the 2017's better than th'11-current looks. So much that I even showed the picture to my wife... who asked if I thought I was gonna get a new truck. Would be nice, but I'll keep my ol' 7.3's going for quite some time for what a new one would cost.

But they do look nice... in 10 years when there's 100k on a used one, I may own one.

Edit: please give us manual trans again!!!!

Yeah, that's me. 10 yr old, 100K mile truck is right up my alley. :)

You don't even have to wait 10 years to find a 100k mile truck. Give them 2-4 years. I had a local dealer stick a 07 Silverado half ton with 364,000 miles on the lot and expect to sell it. Now what kind of idiot would buy that?

Wanna buy my 6.4L in 3 years? It'll be 10 years old and have about 80-85k on it then. :)

I sure wouldn't recommend it. Right around 100k is when the two 6.4s we had started having issue after issue. I know a lot of others that had the same experience. We had several 6.0 fords with issues prior to that. Couldn't give me a ford diesel that wasn't a 7.3 right now. YMMV.

That sure is ugly. Looks like they forgot pieces of the grill surround from a distance.

And the dually......who designed those square fenders with round flared lips???

Glad they already scared me away with their diesel engines.

At least the F-150 and the 5.0 L are still nice.

Like HHR said it was a design flaw in the wheel wells. But Dodge and Chevy are not any better. I have a friend with a 2004 Dodge that lives in s garage and is hardly driven. He has rust on the bed around the wheel wells. They only last so long with the salt up morth
