I've been lucky...

Only bought one new car in my life and one new tractor and both have provided excellent service.

currently own over 50 vehicles... all bought used except for the above...

In cars and tractors there are models with very good reputations and others that are not so good or even worse.

This comes out over time based on real world results...

Not every sale of used equipment is a problem waiting to be pushed off...

I bought two excellent vehicles from a retired couple that could no longer drive and was moving to a retirement home... bought my Deere 110 because the owner sold the ranch and was liquidating...

Of course used is almost always As-Is...

I just hate hearing about KYThunders problems with new equipment...

In California I am a State Certified Lemon Law Arbitrator and have seen plenty of NEW vehicles with severe problems warranting a buy back...

What I found very interesting is when a manufacturer gets involved and asks for one last repair attempt at a Dealer the manufacturer chooses... indicating that not all Dealers provide the same level of competency...

This is the loader hoses against the exhaust stack. That is what made me irate. Now Deere stepped in without argument and got me a new tractor, this is all on the dealer. Evidently they realize it because the manager is coming to work on it himself this evening. Im no rocket scientist but not an idiot either and that right there was just plain pathetic.

Then i try to mount my loader and this happens...however I spent 5 minutes to remedy both issues myself. We shall see what the antifreeze leak turns out to be...

Sounds like the service manager needs to do some saber rattling with the mechanics that prepped the machine.

After an all night set on the concrete in the barn, I discover a puddle of fluid, appears to be antifreeze. I crawl under to investigate and see they also had removed a bolt that held a bracket for all the fuel lines, now fuel lines are rubbing the block...:mur:, called the dealer hes sending me a bolt, I guess I'm going to try to find the mysterious antifreeze leak and hope its just a hose clamp....beyond frustrated. Where is the quality control? You would think with the issues I have already had they would have went over this tractor with a fine tooth comb to be sure there were zero issues.

Think of all the things that are wrong with these tractors that you can't see. Inside the engine, trans, diff etc. That's what caused all of my frustration, and my internal mechanical problems didn't start to show up until after 200 hours. John Deere products are still nice to operate, but quality has gone downhill fast.

He came, I found the top radiator hose clamp at the block was loose, put another full 2 turns on it, appears to have stopped the antifreeze, he brought the bolt for the loose bracket and installed. Had no excuses, agreed with me that it was unacceptable and took full responsibility. He also said he tore everyones butt that touched it. Hopefully now I can actually do something with it.

I hope all your problems are now behind you. Now that the service manger is on your side. Maybe in a month from now you can ask him to have someone take another look at your tractor to give you peice of mine check up.
