Re: under armour for a max26/8?Hydraulic Filter X-Refence.

A word of advice to all who have a E MAX or MAX series tractor. These tractors are for light duty use ONLY. They were not designed for landscaping or construction site use. They are perfect for lawns, flower beds and lite lifting and digging. Most of you with these issues should have considered the work you intending to do with it! Maybe spent a little more $$ and went to the 16 Series tractor. To all who are having issues. Make sure you dealer knows the problems you are having and they follow up with Mahindra!

I am not sure about the E-Max but the Mitsu/Mahindra is one of the most capable small tractor out there, despite its flaws, tto which I've elaborated on elsewhere. I agree it is not a construction, heavy landscaper tractor, but it can make a heck of a '"flower bed", as darn 3 Pt. can lift a ton!

Dealer knows about the things that are dealer-related problems. As I've said before, clearing brush and having stuff bounce up into the undercarriage is not likely to be a warranty issue, nor is this something I would expect or demand a solution from the dealer. That being said-I didn't buy a $27,000(msrp) tractor to plant flower beds and drag around wheel-barrow sized loads of materials (although, tbh, when the heavy lifting is over, that's about all it's going to be used for haha). If I only had my property to worry about, I would have probably upgraded when my max28 was stolen, however I added gates on both my current residence as well as my rental properties with the width of the max in mind (oh and the volvo has a towing capacity of about what my trailer and tractor weigh, not much room for wiggling there either).

It would be nice, if mahindra offered a belly pan for those of us that don't use the mid-pto, however they don't, so I went downtown and bought a 4x8 sheet of 11 gauge mild and am building my own.
The seat however, remains an abortion. One of the circlips popped off the other night and one of the spring loaded deals that holds it at the halfway point fell out at the same time. This was while I was pitching it forwards and backwards whilst re-routing the hydraulic lines to more favorable (safer) locations.

anyway, pics of the skidplate constructions (don't judge my welds, I couldn't see what I was doing and I wasn't smart enough to tack it and then weld it off the tractor until after I'd made things ugly)

it's supported in the back, and before I actually did anything with it I put two more stands up under the front. This made for a funny picture though.

gotta bend the front up some more and then put some attachment points on it, and figure out the best way to extend front coverage without getting into moving objects. I'm also going to bend up some metal to extend from the sides up to the edge of the platform on both sides to protect the linkages and wiring. Reckon I'll hit it with bed liner when it's done

I see worse welding, I.e. Stuff I've done.

Anyways, some hungry for business Fab shop with a measuring tape, break and punch and access to CAD ought to come up with underbelly armor for many cuts, and sell on TMN E-bay and amazon, and they could grow their business.

If they don't have CAD access PM me and give me a sketch & for either free armor or a small fee, I'll design.

I like what you have done, Certainly cleans up the underside of it!!! I too have a backhoe and the soft lines that are zip-tied underneath broke when I snagged some brush. I re-attached and they are out of the way for the time being. Looking at what you have done; I would consider it to be a great permanent upgrade to what was there before

linuxman51;4238237 Hard poly probably isn't a bad idea said:
Find an old plastic bedliner from a p/u tk. I use them for all kinds of "protection" on my tractor along with a steel skid plate from front to back. They cut nicely with a "skillsaw" and can be re-formed with a little heat. And I think that all of the newer tractors have a "tender" belly with all the hydraulics & wiring that the older machines just did not have. That's a hunk of bed liner on the grill guard, and a piece of it (with the stripes vertical) serving as a 2nd layer guarding the sides of the fuel tank above the step.

You fellas inspired me to make a belly pan(s) for mine as I'm very concerned about the brushes and rocks that I deal with at my place.

Thanks for the suggestion! I snagged one last night for free to use with the more complex (and less likely to be directly hit) areas. Will probably reinforce some of it a little with brackets on the inside. I'll throw up pics when I get a few minutes to start (hoping tonight)

finally got off my duff and got t work on the side pods. when I finish them I'll make something to go up underneath the engine, just in case. That bed liner plastic is some serious stuff.

passenger side was the guinea pig, as it no longer holds anything but linkage.

got a little optomistic on my trimming on the curve, will address that on the driver's side (left), to keep things out of the filter area

pretty nice stuff to work with actually, I drug *** getting started and it took me around 2 hours to make that (including cutting, trimming, talking trash, getting beer, figuring out different tricks to do the things I wanted to do, etc).

I bore easily, so I used my mapgas torch to heat the material up for bending rather than the hot air gun. worked well, once the material cooled back down it was rock hard. may be a tinge more brittle, but I doubt it, I didn't blister it up any worse than the heat gun would have.
