Spent more time managing the drone than building the fence sections but ended up OK without any major hassles. Actually working on the fence was kind of secondary as I wanted to get more familiar with shooting video and editing the video with the drone and other cameras. Learned a few things about editing with multiple camera views. Here's the video link.

In before the thread is locked.

Looks like it was windy where you are. Even the low brush was moving.

Yep some wind but not too high to fly most of the time but I did had to delay shooting a couple of times because of high winds.

Thanks for posting. I like the idea of the air compressor in the FEL bucket. What software did you use to edit the two camera shots together?

I'm using Final Cut Pro 10.1.4 Actually there are three camera involved in the video: the DJI on board cam, a GoPro Hero2, and a basic camcorder. I'm just getting into multi-camera editing (although I've used more than one camera in many of my videos I have not used the multi-camera editing features of my FCP software). My DJI drone presents a special challenge as the multi-camera editing requires some means of syncing the video - seems like audio activated syncing is the most common means used. But my drone does not record audio so I had to do some manual footage manipulations to get the videos to sync. Probably better ways but that's my current approach.

These drones do have some practical uses. I am going to fly mine over the house tomorrow to check out the condition of the gutters before I go up 30 feet in a man lift to clean them out. I would highly recommend spending $17 and putting prop guards on your drone. image-4207251039.jpg

Really neat use of your drone. Please post more.

Actually I have the guards but haven't gotten around to installing them yet. I agree they are great for checking out roofs. I'm also using mine to check property lines by putting markers at each corner and taking a shot with the drone. No other easy way because of thick tree patch and a hill between the two points.

Thanks. They are fun to fly and they open up all kinds of recreational and practical opportunities. My hobby is making Youtube videos for fun and profit and I've already created a playlist of drone videos on my Youtube channel (a little self promotion :)).

bob you are a brave man! I can't imagine leaving my phantom alone like that to hover, especially
so low! but it's nice video, good job editing!
