LS XR4145H
So I finally got out to do some bushhogging with my new XR4145H and it loses tons of power going up hill and RPMs drop WAY down, of course it is worse when bush hogging but seems to lose power even when just trying to go uphill. Tractor seems to handle load just fine but going uphill it almost feels like it is going to die...

HELP?!?

What range are you mowing in, high, med, or low.
High range is only meant for travel, low and med for working. With HST going up hill you'll need to back off the pedal and go slower to keep the RPM's up.

Mowing in low(1) Even in low when going up hill it loses power without PTO active. RPM's drop. Tractor can handle load on flat ground with no problem.

I have the same tractor and was having problems very similar to what you are describing. Mine also would not pull itself on level ground in high range. I had to take it back to the dealer. What they found was that the EGR valve was defective, and they replaced it under warranty at 25 hours. Now it will run the bush hog in med range climbing a very steep hill with no bogging issues.

Since you recently purchased and it is a new model for LS with the LS engine maybe a call to your dealer is warranted. May be a fuel starving problem under load or injector pump timing not set right. I wouldn't think you would have many hours on it yet so I doubt the fuel filters are plugged. Tractor shouldn't lose power using low range.
Turkdaddy's reply may be the answer also.

I called my dealer(Goss equipment) and he is putting a call in Monday morning to LS to see what they recommend. Hoping it is something like an EGR valve they can just ship me and I can swap so I don't have to try to get it to the dealer 2hrs away... :-(

I think we might have the same issue. our 4150H bogged down going up a hill in 2nd.. no attachments less then 5 hours on it. My 1949 cub grunts but cruises up the same hill in 2nd gear.

U guess I should call the dealer

I will hopefully hear back by this afternoon from my dealer and will post an update.

I hope your issue gets solved quick. I'm wondering if it's hydrostatic transmission related, or the ecu control for it? Only one reference point but my shuttle hasn't had that issue. A shot in the dark though, I guess it really could be anything..

My dealer just called and LS said it was an EGR valve and they will be shipping another one out ASAP. I am about to go look and see if it is easy to swap out so I don't have to take the thing up 2.5hrs each way.. ;)
