I filled it up and then drove it around the yard, then checked the drain holes and it poured out. So I guess it gets where it needs to.

Don't worry, just take out the 2 'vent' bolts to allow the air to exit while filling, and fill the fill hole to the top. It's all good.

SO you didn't just fill it up at the big hole in the floorboard? You can put it all in right there and check with the dipstick.. crank it then run all hydraulics in and out to bleed air and then check once more

Yes, that takes care of the rear end of the tractor and the fel, etc but not the front axle. That has a separate fill, vent(s) and drain(s) holes. No dip stick, just a fill hole.

Ohhhhhhh ok I thought you were still talkin about the rear... that's my bad. Don't really understand the point on the front axle change other than cleaning out assembly trash... bet that oil looked as clean as the stuff you put back in huh?

It looked clean, for sure, but since this was the recommended first time change out, I felt it was necessary.

Good piece of mind for sure

Really the fact you can use the same oil as the Hyd/Trans takes... makes oil storage easier and less complicated.. that's one of the more operator friendly models to keep up.. gona miss those 16 series

I have a vintage Alemite fluid pump that still works great. Each crank of the handle pumps about a pint. When I changed mine, I went through almost all of three 5-gallon pails of hydraulic oil. The tank on the Alemite pump has a large fill cap so dumping oil into it is easy.

Mine is same as this one but with a few dents in the tank. It's a time and mess saver.
