hey guys i have a John deere 2032r with a H130 Loader with the john deere quick attach. I been looking at getting the Skid steer adaptor for my loader but was wondering if it was worth it? is it gonna lower my lifting capacity? Just wondering what you guys think?

I asked my dealer about the same thing for my tractor and he said it will lower the lifting capacity quite a bit cause the parts needed to make it a skid steer quick attack is quite heavy with all the plate.

I just cant figure out why JD wont go with the flow and use the normal quick attach like everyone else. What is even worse is that the JD customers should DEMAND IT and do so at no additional cost!

That aside what is the weight difference for the Quick attach and do you really get anyplace near the max lift of your tractor during your regular usage? For my uses and the versatility of being able to use so many different attachments that are not specific for the JD quick attach and the cost of having aftermarket attachments built for the JD only hook up compared to everything else along with being able to use friends and families attachments or lend mine, would make the loss of a few pound of lift insufficient.

SSQA is an option in the 3-series and larger tractors, so they have indeed "gone with the flow". SSQA does not make sense for the 2-series and smaller machines due to the extra weight and inability to really use any SSQA attachments.

I disagree with the "quite a bit" part unless you where to use one of the available adapters on the market as they move the attachment forwards several inches. If converting your H165 to SSQA with the JD "holders" you should see virtually no difference in lift capacity.

Yes, this is an old unanswered post-sorry we missed it!

It is NOT worth it for your machine-especially the "adapter" part as you loose to much lift. Everything your loader can make good use of is readily available in the JDQA setup like forks and grapples.

Re-read corey9212's post. I have no problem getting FEL attachments for my 300CX... I just let them (the manufacturer) know that that is what I have.

There's really not a lot of attachments for a FEL when you consider it. Heaps of implements for the back end, which is why there are Categories. :2cents:

Argue all you want but I even have a standard SSQA on my little JD 755 and would never waste my money on an attachment for a loader that only fits one brand. I have several buckets alone that are used between 4 different machines along with many other variable size and use specific attachments for my loaders including custom made one off stuff.

I'm not arguing, Mate, just discussing. I also only have the one rig with a FEL.

As a discussion, a Skid Steer is designed to operate a very robust set of arms along with quite a number of equally robust attachments. Hence the (standardised?) Skid Steer Quick Attach [SSQA] is designed to to be equally robust & heavier.

A FEL is designed, as an optional attachment to a tractor (and each brand has there own design), to lift. Yes, we tend to abuse them by doing all sorts of things (like digging) but they're just for up/down/carry purposes.

I guess what I'm saying is that the 'front end' of a Skid Steer comes in industry standard sizes = an industry standard SSQA. The 3 point hitch of a Tractor comes in industry standard Categories = an industry standard 3PHQA (such as my Cat1 iMatch).

Are you suggesting that the tractor industry needs to standardise/categorise all FELs to accomodate all Skid Steer attachments? 'Cause a Tractor FEL isn't designed to work as a Skid Steer.

Many tractor brands already do have the Skid Steer style QA. And I think that is the point he is trying to make.
I can bring forks or buckets from our skid steers at work home with me and they will fit right on my tractors QA.
