47 out now, low 60's today. Yesterday it hit 71. Me and the wife sat outside a lot and laughed a lot.

Had a nice steak on the grill.

On processed meats and specific to Hot Dogs, they are like maybe a once a year thing, summer time, with the family. Maybe on poker night for the guys, but we have been lucky to balance our diet, and the kids picked up on "balance" too.

Everything is about balance.

Good Morning. 0650, partly cloudy, 62F with 97% humidity. Forecast high of 80F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 57F tonight. I have to pick the peas when the dew dries, and I'm going to mow the rest of the morning. But since I'm not working tonight, after lunch I'm going to play in the dirt until dark. And as the hole gets deeper and the ramp gets steeper, I think about balance a lot.

According to the Doc, I have lost 15# in 3 weeks, but have a lot more to go. Sure do miss my wife's homemade pies. This morning I am going to eat my days worth of carbs for breakfast making Biscuits and gravy, I'll eat celery for the rest of the day. Even using Veggie Sausage to make it. I will admit I feel better and my blood sugar is down to normal for the last week, joints don't hurt as much and we will see what the Heart and liver do after 60 days.

Cutting Metal roofing to size today for the run-in. Maybe remove some trees where I decided to build a 12x40 implement shed. Got a friend coming over to look at giving me an asphalt parking area for the trailers. My wife agreed that I need the transport trailer I have been wanting... a 5 ton 7x21 beaver tail. Hope to pick it up in Nov.

Going after square bales (about 50) out of the field tomorrow (Goat hay for the winter) and arranging to have 20 round bales delivered, and hopefully our cow on Sunday.

Back to building today after a few errands. Last day to pay property taxes early and receive the 2% discount. So that's one stop. I know there will be a line there.

Good Morning! 70˚ raining, thunder, and under a tornado watch. Rain expected through tomorrow.

Sorry Kyle, Kosher dogs are not listed as an exception in the #1 carcinogen category. (source?) I wonder if school will still be serving Hot dogs for lunch?

I got the (source?) from my wife as she was doing her masters thesis - nothing could be stated without one.

Weedeated all day yesterday - not even half finished. I called the County and they are planning on mowing their road side of the fence this fall so I'm only weed eating 2' next to the steep front fence line. They can mow the other 4'-6' with their batwing at an angle.

No Don, we don't. Not that we are not willing to try, just don't have a recipe or even thought about it. You have to understand just cooking with it is a big leap for me, a big smile for my wife. :laughing: But I am trying to keep my carbs at a daily 80 grams in a veggie base fast burning while maintaining a little animal protein. So no grains, rice, refined sugars. It does seem to be working and who knows, after 60 days maybe my taste buds will change so I stay on it... NAHhhhh

I look at that processed meat study with an open mind. Is it the meats themselves, or the processing procedures? Or the combination thereof? Somewhere in the back of my head the old "study it, changes it" rules come into play. It's quite complex. Then I think, man, fire and food have been around for a long time. One would have thought by now, we would have been killed off with all the grilling and processing we have done in our history.
