52.6F @ 13:00 with light rain/mist, likely for the entire day ... high might hit 54F.

Probably try and get carb rebuild for the Echo blower done later today, in anticipation of nice weather tomorrow (58F and sunny)

Checking the extended forecast, I only see one 60 degree high predicted and it's 10 days away so who knows whether that will ever come to pass or not.

Assuming I get that finished and get the thing running, I might drag the car ramps down from the shop to the garage and run The Woman's car up on 'em and see if I can figure out what part of the exhaust system has failed. Hopefully, it is something that can be fixed relatively easily - cut out a section of pipe and replace just that. I've priced the exhaust system itself @ Autozone - parts alone are close to a grand. Guess I can't complain too much - it's a 15 year-old car and this is the first time we've had any problems with the exhaust system.

Finally got around to doing a rust/sediment drain of the hot water tank - first time since I installed it about 3 or 4 (or 5 ?) years ago ... definitely was some crud in there. Will probably drain out another bucket today and see if I get any more crud just to be sure.

But first I have to start on the really important stuff: fixing The Woman's washing machine ... it might be under warranty still ... but probably not.

Got the truck back...the code (for the Check Engine Light) was for a malfunctioning Power Control Module. However, the mechanic just cleaned all the connections off and reset the module (disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes). He said, if the light comes back on, it will have to be replaced. So, pulled out my check book and he waved it off...we'll worry about it if we have to replace the module.
Can't ask for better service!

Roy, good news.

It'll be good news IF that light doesn't come back on! But, I doubt if I'm that lucky...truck does have 145K miles on it.

RS, you are looking in the wrong catalog.
you need to get a set of these plus some pipes. What else could you want? ;)

I can just see you going down to Muffler City and closely watching some gorilla install your system. No.
How about off a wrecked vehicle? junk yard? particularly if your vehicle is high miles

Well I fixed my Dads' tractor - easy just told him to get a new battery While I bury one of his old cows with my tractor.
The club car has a difficult bolt that needs soaking overnight and I'm hoping the thinning wire it's connected to is the culprit.
And my you know who called, her 15 minutes of fame is not dwindling it is swelling up like a Tsunami. Things are in the works. More to come on that as things solidify.
On the small side of it our little news paper called and it is a slow week but they couldn't get hold of her, I got them together and you guessed it - front page material. She's loving it.

Good evening all. 52F and overcast, and gusty South wind. High was 75F, intermittent sun, and very gusty. TMA today, bike ride (rain tomorrow) and a trip into town for shopping.

Well the Doc was not good news, seems that my foot hurts because I broke a bone in it. She called it a "Dancers Break" I laughed and told her that old fat bowlegged men don't dance.

Rained all night and most of the day, except when it was drizzling...the little creek at the bottom of the hill is flowing over the top of my bridge. Glad it has stopped now.

Our warm weather earlier this month has fooled a number of our bushes and trees into flowering like spring - the royal paulownia, hollies, viburnum, bridal veil spiraea, and even the dandelions.

Seriously, check prices at Rockauto (but beware the shipping charges). Also, just for grins, find a "non-chain" father and son muffler shop and get a quote. the catalytic reactors are pricey. You might need one if it is 15 years old too. Being clogged may have been the cause of pressure to build up and blow out the section mentioned. If you can get part numbers at Rockauto and their shipping is too high, google the part numbers at Amazon....

Google youtube for the washing machine switch repair with your model/brand. It's really not hard at all. You can black tape it up for the time being until you can get a new one. Just keep kids and kittys out of it. (unless you wanna git rid of them). :)

I prolly need to clean my chimney too. Is there a cheap poormans way to do it? Chimney sweepers are rare down here. I've been sooted before by all kinds of things.

Coffee is brewing. 28° with clear skies and some light fog. Heading to 56° with sun then clouds. Kind of spooky outside with fog spots and below freezing temperatures. It rained all day yesterday. Snow blade will get put on today.
KevT, hope your foot heals quick.
txdon, Christy has made a name for herself. I bought a charger for my golf cart. Works much better than the OEM. No more boiled away water or corroded connections. Save A Battery.
RS, maybe time for SS Band Clamps.
VETERANS, thanks for your service.
Good Morning All.

Good Morning Everyone, Today is the first day of our Vacation!!!
Here in FL 63 now headed to 83
There in GA 48 is headed to 75

Got the truck and trailer loaded, and I keep reminding the wife that we are bringing no critters home to our house. And RS thinks kittens are tough, my wife wants a draft horse or a mule. :confused3: I am taking my tablet, but hate typing on it, so you guys get a rest from me till Sunday night. Wont be doing much walking and pretty much plan on sitting my butt down in a chair watching the auction.

I have to admit that drinking the beer so RS can have the cans is a win/win situation, I don't drink alcohol... fall down well enough without help. Doc says stay off it when it hurts and if I find a pair of boots that cause it to hurt, quit wearing them. But stay off of it for 30 days and tried to hand me a pair of crutches ...NOT! Another reason to lose weight.

Kyle, I have never done it, but my Dad used to make a chicken wire ball and tie 2 ropes to it. Drop one down the chimney and pull the ball down, then back up. Doing that till he was happy it was clean.
