Good morning!!!!

Last night the temperature didn't drop below 14C/57F - incredible for the second week in November. Everything is still growing, including the weeds that should by now have long ago given up for the year.

There's a ban on haggis? I just thought that no one wanted to eat it?

The rumour that Haggis were not worth eating must have been put around by a rare breed conservation group who didn't want any more shot. It now struggles to survive even in it's native environment in Scotland. Maybe it has more appeal to bow hunters.

Eric haggis sounds pretty disgusting - heart, liver, lung, served in a stomach, ugg.

It's actually an incredibly healthy way to serve up meat - as hardly anyone then wants to eat it :)

24 right now...high will be 57 today...
Late today....my truck is still in the shop, so no way to work this morning since the stepdaughter has to use the car. Not much use getting up too early.

Coffee is done brewing. 42° with rain this morning. Heading to 48° with rain in morning then clouds rest of the day. Got tractor and mower antifreeze and oil changed yesterday. Weather forecast for Friday calls for showers of rain and snow. Looks like a good reason to get snow blade on tractor. Then clean up barn and dispose of antifreeze and oil from yesterday.
Good Morning All.

38 degrees and dark this morning. Yes these winter hours take some getting used to. We can tell when quitting time approaches down on the job at exit 18. Two or three flights of geese fly over at sunset on their way to Mascoma lake for the night. The foreman doesn't take the hint and keeps plugging along right up to six o'clock.

"job at exit 18."
By chance would that be exit ramp north bound, looks like tunneling of some sort?

69 degrees in rain, staying that temp most of day, rain ending later this morning.
Off to town this morning to get my will redone.
contractors likely washed out again, hope they start tomorrow and there's nice weather for a while after this wet period. .13 inches since last night, .65 inches yesterday, less than half the forecast. An inch of rain is just fine...

That be us. Jacking a four foot diameter steel sleeve under the interstate to the river bank. 24" sewer goes into it when we are done. Hitting rock fill right now and it is going slow.

53 out this AM, somewhat wet. High upper 50's. Suppose to be drying out these next few days. Glad.

Will hunt for Mr. Beaver and family tonight, upstream. I'll set some traps if I find their dam or lodge. I'll carry just in case I get lucky to see them.

rsryan, it's a new day. Time to start all your projects up again.

On gutters, I am seriously considering taking mine off the entire house. Too much trouble. Think I'll start a thread in rural this AM. Opinions, wanted.

Have a great day all, be safe.

72 going to 78 and cloudy. The pastures (new seed) sure loved all the rain we got. After the next full moon it should be established enough for critters Got a couple of small jobs to do before leaving town tomorrow, then off to get a haircut, meet wife for lunch, and the Doc's. Then home by 5 to meet 2 sets of perspective renters. Had 2 last night, one girl is a no!!! She was 20 minutes late, and looked half stoned. The other was a young couple and boy did his eyes light up when he saw my shooting range.

RS, boy am I glad that it isn't only me that has growing project lists that don't go as planned. That is why I semi- retired so the list could get smaller, instead new things get added with the old ones still there.

Rip, Good luck on your Beaver Hunt (that just didn't sound right )

The good thing today, the tire store is right next to the new Harbor Freight store here. I didn't buy much, but it beat watching Judge Judy in the waiting room at the tire store.

What is it with waiting rooms and bad TV? We are taking Margie's Prius C to Marianna Toyota tomorrow for service {she has finally put 5K on it} and they always have some game show on way too loud. I think they do it so you will get up and walk the lots in self defense. If they sell an extra car or two per month this way it is all gravy to them.

Good Morning. 0720, overcast, 55F with 98% humidity. Forecast high of 73F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 50F tonight. It's cold and damp out this morning. I'm starting more green onion and cilantro seeds for inside under the lights, then transplanting peppers and tomatoes into as compact area as I can. I will throwing up a cheapo greenhouse around them soon. Also need to transplant collard plants into the ground. November is a third over and haven't seen any temps in the 40's on my 10 day forecast yet. Looks like a mild Fall here. I'll take it, but swatting mosquitoes this late in the year is getting to be a pain.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

45 this morning and headed to 61 today. An incredible .03 inches of rain yesterday that took all day to fall. I know RNG would love to have that rain but it just made a nasty day here.

Got tires replaced yesterday after 3 hours in the waiting room. Parkway was closed for a semi wreck so road to tire store was a packed two lane. Got there and he had two different tires in stock at the quality I was looking for. The Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac and a Kelly M/T. Basically the same price and Goodyear builds Kelly. So I ended up with the Goodyears. Also a front end alignment and a set of front brakes. Boy does that make a difference. Truck rides, drives and stops better. On way home southbound parkway was open, north bound closed for 7 hours but they were still cleaning up the wreck. One semi totaled it was sitting on two more semis and filled a dump truck. Was surprised to learn the driver survived.

All birds leave tonight so it's going to be a long day. Will be getting ready for that all day.

Good morning! Cloudy 63˚. My Dad called, his tractor won't start, I did not tell him half my fleet is down. So, I'm heading over there to fix his, but first I have to take my tractor over there to do a job for him. I hope I just have to take his battery out and recharge it. It's one of those extra long batteries and he is nowhere near a plug. Maybe I can pull it close to the house.

Eric, That may work in the civilized UK, but the ones that got sent across the ocean, those crazy Americans, they will eat anything, the more disgusting the better.

"Here, hold my beer and watch me eat this. . . "

Good Morning! 42F @ 6:30AM. Partly cloudy skies. High 57F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

RS, sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. Yesterday seems like you were a little bit of both. At least your Everready battery seems to be holding up just fine and you're still makin' the rest of us look bad!

David, they don't hire many brain surgeons in cell phone stores, and even fewer find their way onto customer support teams. As usual, google can help you find a forum with the answer, but if it requires a company "expert" to apply it it's best to just escalate up the CS chain until you find someone that recognizes that as a viable approach. See my previous comments about customer service in this country.:confused3:

Good luck with your will, Drew. Last September I hired a new attorney to help me make alterations to an existing trust. Not much action to date and last week I got a note saying she doesn't want the work because she's "uncomfortable" making alterations, preferring instead to create a new trust from scratch. She refunded the retainer, but is trying to keep the initial consultation fee. If she'd said she doesn't handle alterations in our initial phone call I wouldn't have hired her to begin with. I wrote back saying as much, but I'll bet she comes up with a reason to keep the money anyway. So much for ethics.

Summer ended here weekend before last when an inch of rain fell and the temps dropped back into the 60s for daytime highs. Another storm came in Sunday and Monday, leaving us with almost another inch and even lower daytime highs in the 50s. Supposed to warm up again into the 60s this week, with more rain toward the end of the next weekend. I'm not complaining at the weather change, but so far the rain hasn't made any noticeable difference in the lake level, which is still dropping. Gonna take a lot more to saturate the ground enough to let what comes down run off into the lakes, but that'll only cause mud slides in the fire ravaged areas. Guess you can't have everything, but the moisture will also start new growth in the burns.

Got bills paid yesterday, including a motorcycle registration that had expired. 33% penalty for being ten days late. More paperwork this morning, then I'll try to get the two speedos reassembled and installed that finally showed up last week. I'd fat fingered the zip code that the repair shop used when they mailed the finished instruments, and the post office couldn't figure out how to find me with just the street address. Maybe the gummint should hire more brain surgeons, or perhaps we should just elect the one that's running?
