I get about 18 to 20 miles per gallon on the highway with my 5 L in my 2014 super crew 4 x 4.
the Commander you have, one of the new Jeep designed vehicles?? Gas powered?
I'm guessing he's referring to the older dis-continued Jeep Commanders, not the new diesel Jeep Grand Cherokees. Reason I say this is that I had an '06 with the 4.7 V8 and only averaged 14-15 according to the DIC bone stock and unladen.
It pulls as good as my 99 7.3

Man I would love to get 14-15 MPG. I barely get 12 in the Commander - without towing anything. Voracious.
Well it should. The F150 Eco boost probably weighs 3000lbs less and about 130lbs less torque. Your 7.3 was only rated 240hp and about 500lbs torque. Pretty low output for engine size. The 7.3 was a good engine but fell behind in the power department, was other brands came in. Sure wouldn't pull as much as the 99 I bet.
