44F with some clouds @ 14:00 ...

Made the run last evening to a little pet store down in the next little community below us, as the woman came up empty on her efforts (both places she stopped at were out of Danios) Judging from the reaction of The Little Squeak, could be the best $3 I've ever spent ... she sat there fascinated in front of the tank for probably 10 minutes straight when she noticed the fish in there. Pretty good for a kitten whose attention span is measured in seconds ...

Today was trash day, so I hauled the cans up to the road on my way out yesterday ... got to go retrieve them (and the mail) here in a little bit.

Disassembled door knob on front door and lubed it up last night (I had previously tightened it because someone had complained it was loose ... and then complained after I tightened it that it was too tight ...)

Tried heating up the aquarium frame in the bath tub ... that didn't fly ... it's just too far off from the correct size. Called Aqueon/All Glass directly and spoke to a CSR ... looks like they don't have anything that will fit something that old. Found out that the glass I have is way thicker (3/8") than what is commonly used today. Best solution I can come up with is to silicone in a 2" wide x 3/8" thick piece of tempered glass at the top as a cross-brace, and then just silicone on the black plastic trim on top. Should work fine.

Spent some more time last evening scraping off mineral deposits off the glass on the 55g with a razor blade ... tough stuff ... leaving it on there as long as I did probably didn't help matters either.

Think I have most of the styro for the background carved up at this point ... just need to figure out the approach I'm going to take as far as construction/assembly.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable and productive day.

... RS, don't go there... trust me. Pick your battles and that one isn't worth it. I guarantee every home in America has one of those drawers.
Kev,

My objection isn't to our home having one of those drawers ... it's to the apparent need to have every single drawer in the house be like that ...

;)

Good luck at the auction.

Good afternoon all. 46F this morning and mostly clear, light breeze. Clouding up now, forecast for 62F and mostly cloudy this afternoon. Wind has been picking up, fairly breezy next few days. Cleaned kitchen and mulched leaves on lawn, packed for tomorrows trip and bike ride.

Thanks to all for the good wishes. The hand is getting better. For the record, most of my typing is one hand, or rather one finger at a time...:)

The dog was brought to my wife as he had already bitten another groomer. I was trying to help her put a muzzle on it, when it bit me. It is some kind of German Weimeramer cross. Nutty dog, I think it is going to be put down. It wasn't in our shop 5 minutes before it bit me. It's lucky that it bit a 60 year old man with rather large hands. If it bit a small child, it could do some very serious damage. I don't know anything about the dog's history, but it probably wasn't very pleasant.

I'll be back at things pretty quick. My hand is swollen up pretty good, but that should go away in a few days. Btw, having holes punched in your hand hurts. The crushing of you hand hurts a whole lot more. It's like having your hand in a vise.

I feel your pain, bro. My wife has what I call flat surface disease. We bought a beautiful wood side table years ago. A couple years later I remarked that I could have saved a lot of money - a couple cinder blocks, and a piece of plywood would have worked just as good - the table was completely cover in knick nacks and assorted "stuff". She really didn't like that comment, especially as her mother agreed with me!

Tables, spare beds....not enough room to set 1 more dime on them....and we have 2 of those drawers at least.

Safe travels Ron.

300, did you slug the dog back? That's what those smaller souvenir bats they give out are for. Hope your hand gets better.

RNG, sounds like you're getting close on your beemer.

Anyone from up north ever have a Point Special Lager beer? From Stevens Point Brewery in Wisconsin. Good stuff main.
