What is the WORST injury you have ever sustained?

I was cutting a tree so I could get the tractor through to a tree I had cut, the skider would not start. It was a big dogwood tree that had a dead oak limb laying in the top of it. My wife would come with me and watch to make sure I was ok, and do little things. You guessed it, Just as the tree started over I heard a sound that made me think of a baseball bat hitting a watermelon. No I never did that but that was the thought that went through my mind. The next thing I knew I was rolling to my right on the ground and holding my head. I got up and said something about needing to get the tractor hooked to the logs and the wife said I should go to the DR. When I asked why she said I was bleeding pretty bad. I Put my hand up on my head and then saw a solid stream of blood breaking into drops out in front of my forhead. She drove me to the doc and he said he would put 2 stiches in it. If I had known that I would have stayed home. Had to take it easy for a few weeks, got dizzy every time I did much at all, but still it was not bad. only had 2 bones broken, nose and tail bone, So I am very blessed. Ed

Not sure if it was my worst injury, but it was my most recent bad one. I don't have to tell you about it either, I can show you a video. I'm the guy in red who takes the tumble saving the riders *** and then he saves me from breaking my back on the scariest rock imaginable :|

handlebars got me in under the ribs pretty good.

Not exactly an injury , but the worst pain I have felt.....getting shingles on my back and under my arms, felt like caustic burns for two weeks , and it reared its head the weekend of my daughters wedding, hid it from her and her "day" and went to the hospital on the return home from her wedding . I hear they have drugs now to help prevent it, I suggest you take if possible !!!!

Not exactly an injury , but the worst pain I have felt.....getting shingles on my back and under my arms, felt like caustic burns for two weeks , and it reared its head the weekend of my daughters wedding, hid it from her and her "day" and went to the hospital on the return home from her wedding . I hear they have drugs now to help prevent it, I suggest you take if possible !!!!

They aren't cheap, but my wife and I both got the shingles vaccination about three and a half years ago. Everyone says they are well worth what they cost, and I have no doubt that's true.

That would have been fine with me if that had been the only place I had the shingles. The old country Doc said Yep that's shingles. First time I ever saw shingles in anyone's mouth. The ones on my side were a piece of cake compared to the ones in my mouth. Trust me they were no fun at all. Ed

About the shingles vaccination; a friend had chemo for cancer. The chemo destroyed the vaccination he had had previously and he then had a very bad bout with shingles.

My health provider told me the cost is about $255 for the shingles vaccination because insurance does not cover it. And BTW I do not consider shingles an injury.

Recovering from hemorrhoid surgery was the worst for me, then
smashing off a third of a finger, and finally
breaking 3 toes on a Friday when a piece of steel fell off the table... and going back to work Monday to a bench assembly job.

I'd rather re-break 3 toes than have hemorrhoid again.

I'm with you. Passing a football wrapped in barbed wire once a day for 6 months is a good comparison.
