Has anybody tried the Hi Point handguns?

Well, I ended up with a Ruger GP100ss in .357. (For now.) Actually it was way more than I had planned to spend but I first bought a used SP101, took it home, fired it twice and knew that it wasn't what I wanted. They also had a nice Springfield 1911ss, which may find it's way under my tree for Christmas. (It's a present Dave, from me to ME.:D)

Can't go wrong with a Ruger anything.

Hi-Point isn't always the cheapest pistol.

It's still the cheapest pistol, it just not always the cheapest package.. you can always stick a thousand dollar scope on a 150$ gun. :)

I have a C9. Its an ugly heavy and ridiculously hard to dissassemble gun but funtions reliably. i bought it for a cheap truck gun in college. that was maybe 11 years ago and i paid like $120 then for it. Has 500-600 rounds through it maybe

I actually saw just today, they do have some optional grips you can order from Hi Point, at least for the .40 and .45. Gonna look a bit closer after work today

They're not any worse looking than glocks. IMO

If you want a budget priced gun, that you can just throw around. Buy a High Point.. They won't win a beauty contest, and they could stand to be put on a diet, but they do function

agreed.. or you could say it the other way around.

at least with the high point and the price, you feel ok about it being ugly.

both go bang and have a stellar warranty. in fact.. I've heard of hi points warranty doing some pretty good things for people after they have done some pretty bad things to their guns, and no complaints...
