I mentioned to her last night I was thinking about dropping the hood over the range, degreasing it and then spray painting it black (it currently has the original reddish brown paint that matched the original appliances), which would look a little better with the current stove.

She just started sputtering and blowing spit-bubbles ... :laughing:

Yup ... acute, severe case of MTS (Multi Tank Syndrome) ... have one running, two that aren't even filled yet, let alone stocked ... and I'm looking for more ... :laughing:

On a side note, my mother kept a small 5 or 10 gallon aquarium for years and she'd sometimes just sit there and watch the fish. It was so calming to her considering the poverty we faced.

I've heard that watching fish is supposed to be very stress-relieving ... personally, I never had any problem just sitting and watching them for hours on end ... mebbe that's why my blood pressure has always been low ... :laughing:

Depending on the species, they can be pretty fascinating ... particularly if there are breeding pairs, who are raising fry.

Some more history on the engine. ... I love driving the car as my commuter. It gets about 26-27mpg overall in my drive. ...

Meeting fellow TBNers can be fun. Back before moving here, struck up conversation with a fellow also moving to Hawaii. He and wife built about 7 miles from us. We have been steady friends throughout the building process and still socialize with them. I know of postings of at least one other maybe 10 miles away, but haven't met.

Good morning, just under the noon deadline for morning reporting. It was 37˚ this morning and now it's 69˚, a hazy sunny day. I need to start planning my 2016 projects, then delay them and finally start and finish them when Ron drives through.

Yesterday, little brother and I started on Dads tractor shed clean out. We had 3 piles one to metal recycling one to the auction and one to the counties heavy trash. Two skunks were found under a table and could not be chased out and thought they could stink us out. They were right, they won. We got about half done. Ron I did not get a pic of the skunks my brother did not want to go back in there till it had time to air out and we just did some hay and tractor moving for Dad. We did get $50 for the metal and the auction pieces might bring another $50. I tried to bury a dead cow but got stuck in the wet sand and just got out using the FEL on his 2wd tractor. That reminds me, I need to air out my jacket - lot of different smells . . . .

Kitchen cleaning continues apace ...

At this point all the wall cabinets have been emptied, insides washed down, and almost all of their contents have been run through the dishwasher ... probably another load or two still to do. Still have to get to the island cabinets but that will likely be for another day (or later tonight after she goes to bed), as today is the woman's only day off and she needs some relax time.

Fixed another Pergo installation snafu ... when installed it wasn't trimmed properly to accommodate a 2 x 14 inch HVAC register underneath the sink ... so I got out the SawzAll and enlarged the hole in the cabinet, and installed a new register I had down in the basement. Located bottom trim piece for dishwasher and cleaned it off, still have to install it, once the dishwasher finishes its cycle.

The Woman has started to elaborate on what specifically needs to go ... so I'll probably start pulling it and boxing it up.

They are trying lots of coughing and nose blowing going on. Had my mandatory flu shot Wednesday of last week. Just ate dinner watch rest of Saints game then get up test of leaves in dark via flood lights.

Hi guys, just dropping by to see how everyone is. I finally got officially re-retired as of November 27, then promptly came down with pneumonia, even though I've had the pneumococcal and Prevnar 13 shots. But I should have more time now so I'll try to start checking in with my weather report again.

Took the wife on a 8 mile horse back ride... She wants a skinnier horse :laughing: She is sooo sore, and keeps accusing me of doing it on purpose. Me???? :laughing:

I don't know about hating them, but do think they are rather insulting. Don't know that I know anyone of my friends that would make such a purchase without the benefit of consulting their spouse let alone do so and then surprise them.

Good morning. Since they started here to give storms a name a few weeks ago, they seem to be coming more frequently and with increased ferocity. It's as if each storm is showing off, trying to outdo the last one. Fortunately we were on the edge of the latest (Desmond) and escaped most of the rain. Those up in the North West of England were not so fortunate, Desmond has finally left, but not before soaking them with a record breaking 13".

It is also incredibly warm for the time of year - no sunshine, but still expected to be 13C/55F. This just isn't our sort of weather, it belongs to some other country. Either this global warming thingy is happening, or our weather has got lost - if anyone finds it, can we have it back please ?
