My Mahindra is ready for winter!!!

This are some pictures of my snow removal setup on my Mahindra 2555 HST. It consists of a 73" FEL-mount Erskine ES2400 blower driven by a custom made 3-pt mounted, PTO-powered hydraulic pump w/ 30 gal. reservoir.

None of this would be possible without the help of two awesome friends, Jerry and Bob. Jerry mapped out the exact route for the 1-inch hydraulic lines and spent most of the 2-day installation either on his back under the tractor or wrestling with the fittings. For the record, 1" hydraulic lines are not fun to work with.

Bob designed and fabricated all the necessary brackets. Some were basic and simple, while others, not so much. He also came up with the gooseneck mounting design and fixture for the pistol grip chute controller. Very operator-friendly.

Here are some pictures. there are still a couple minor things left, but she is 100% operational and ready for snow.

BTW, the outside temp when were were working was 62 degrees. Little chance of snow that day.

Special thanks to Jerry for not only his efforts and energy, but for keeping me from getting too upset when we would hit a snag or design issue. I am absolutely blessed with amazing friends like these guys!

I have a front blower, but hate the sub-frame. Always liked these loader mounted setups.

Here's a picture of the pump/tank from when I tried to use this setup on my JD 4300. That tractor was WOEFULLY underpowered/undersized for the Erskine. The 2555 is a MUCH better fit!

Thanks for the kind words. It was a serious amount of labor, but I am really pleased with the end results. I know I don't have a cab, and that I'll be getting a face full of snow every time the wind changes direction.........but I still can't wait to try her out.

This could help mitigate the snow in the face routine. You can get one at Gemplers for not much money. They also have them at Ebay uvex face shield | eBay

Now, that's something I hadn't considered, Arrow. Thanks for the suggestion, but I wonder if they fog up. If it's not sufficiently vented it will fog almost immediately. Regardless, I'll research and see what I can find. Thanks again!

Nice job. Did you design/plan to leave under carriage hoses in place in summer (all year) or is it steel piping? I'm still wrestling with big tie wraps to hold my hoses.

Wouldn't disagree with the possibility of it fogging especially if it's 8* out side. There are still things you can do however to protect the face. 1. Seek out an anti fog paint ball face shield. 2. Coat the lens with anti fog solution. 3. Look up "Fog Biter" which is a breathing device you insert in your mouth and directs breath flow downward. Only thing here is that you have to become a mouth breather while clearing snow.
