As mentioned before, HST is only important if you are planning a lot of loader work. Otherwise, I prefer geared tranny. Also, big hills can cause extra wear on HST. The 4-year warranty adds $$ to the LS deal.

I was not even thinking about the LS until he gave me the run around and now that I'm thinking more about it I think I agree with you. The newer LS and the warranty and a helpful dealer is all positives.

I've been looking at these forums for a while now and both the Ls and the kioti are rated good from the owners..

Your post #9 was the first I read about the Kioti dealer being 4 hours away. Even if its 2 hours each way that's too far in my book. Isn't there a closer Kioti dealer. Are you willing to transport it 4 hours for service or repair work. This is something else to think about.
Another thing you mentioned in this post is the the 29.5K price for the 2014 3037 with 50 hours. I hope that is the out the door price with the blower, mower, and taxes included.

Don't forget this is Canadian prices.. dollar is quite low.

The kioti dealer is about 3hrs away and they sell cars and a few kioti's. I'm buying from a private sale but came to find out he is also a car salesman and he says he has to sell it threw his business. Never seen a Kioti dealer down here with more than a couple of tractors on the lot. Ls has 2 dealerships close to me.. 30 min each way and they would pick it up.

To sum up.

2009 Kioti Dk50 with cab and 620 hrs for 32k taxes in. No warranty blower a hole post digger. HST

2014 LS 3037 50 hrs on it with 4 years warranty left
Blower. Mower. "Gear"
29.5k plus my boat in trade valued at 6000$ so 35.5k taxes in out the door.

The price on the Ls 2015 4040 is 49.200$ taxes in. New with Hst blower and mower

So the 3037 is 3hp lower for 15k difference in price and geared

Yup.. just a matter of the hst and the extra 14 hp.. for the work I need it for I don't think it will matter much plus the Ls is less heavy so would do less damage to my lawn.. my big concern is wondering if the LS 3037 would be tippy? Neighbor has a 25 hp JD with cab and unbelievable how it feels unstable.. just came down a little hill sideways and the wheels lifted.. wouldn't want that.

It is pretty important what you plan to do with each tractor. The Kioti is a little bigger and HST. I much prefer HST, but I do very little ground engaging work. For that a geared is better. Either tractor is way too big to mow your yard with. Buy the cheaper one and use the savings to buy a lawn mower.

I will be using the blower for a few driveways and I have about 8 acres of land I have to mow. I was leaning towards the hst as it would be easier for everyone to use.

The guy with the kioti came back with a final price of 32.200$
Taxes in, plated. Now I have to decide.

I'd suggest the hst unless you plan on doing more "farming" type work doing ground engagement. HST is much easier to maneuver for most situations.

I agree.. I have used both in the past and I really liked the hst.. feel like I don't have to do much. Sure they are both great but with the 50 hp and the 80" pronovost should deal with the maritime weather.. snowfall warning tonight is putting me on edge.. :0)

Much better if the wife decides she wants to drive as well. I would not stand anywhere near a manual transmission tractor if my wife was driving LOL.
