RS, I'm sure very shortly your new little kitty will show you nothing but affection, knowing that the expensive doctor's visit where she was lavished with the best of care has made her the great little cat she is. Now just keep her out of the aquarium! My, that could make for some funny opportunities. Cats can fish quite well...
RNG, oh yes and when the last load of stone is brought in and I can get that semi demolished little bridge off my property, and repair the water diversion ditch, then I will even sigh a bigger sigh of relief. These folks do not tread lightly.
Mostly, it's funny really, my first job out of college was in institutional feeding, a food service director serving three hundred people two meals a day. One of the things taught before they shipped me out was how to do parties, steam table layouts, traffic flow, theme dinners, ad nauseum. I lasted all of nine months. My best friend, whose father was number three at Saga Food Service lasted a year. Terrible 80 hour a week job for someone thrown into a failing account with a drunk cook who had to be fired the first day when he came at me with a chef's knife. And here I was a pompous little twit all of 21 years old, in a suit, thinking to myself as this guy is advancing on me, was this some kind of crazy test? No....sadly. But even despite this nonsense and why I left the company and went into insurance, which was my lifelong anchor, I remembered how to do parties. And my late wife, when she was well enough, adored parties so I got some practice. It's been five years since the last one and I'm ready. Luckily I've never been much of a drinker so throwing parties meant I could focus on the food. And like many others here, i like to cook.
In fact, time for me to go cook some shrimp.
