Good Morning! 47F @ 7:15 AM. Periods of rain. High 52F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall may reach one inch.

Better than 50% chance of rain every day for the next week. But still no gully washers on the horizon. Lake level's up five feet in the last week, but has started to level off. Only 150 feet to go until it's full again.

TGIF folks!

Any estimates as to how much rain you guys will need, over what timeframe, to get back to normal?

If I was going to believe in a conspiracy theory, it would be now. My laptop got a update last night, at the same time that Starwars opened! It is something called cortana? 30 minutes after start, and I still can't get it online. I am lucky I got a iPad last week!

I hope he's not charging much for that installation! All that's required it to replace one pin on the bucket linkage and install a wire keeper. He'd really have to work at it to take ten minutes... Aren't farmers supposed to get up with the chickens? Or do they sleep in, too?

He said he'd put it on when he put the remotes on. Guess I'll just wait and see if I get a bill.

Don't know where you heard that. I sleep in. I start my day between 8-9am. Doesn't mean I'm not up earlier than that. Now I may not quit till 10-11pm. The ones that I know that get up every morning and wake the roosters quit about 5pm. They think I sleep too long and I think they quit too early. Guess it's just the difference in people.

Mostly cloudy and 33.7F @ 13:45 ... snow is in the forecast, likely won't be much if any ...

Squeak has been all tuckered out from her big adventure yesterday. Mister (yellow cat) was beside himself after we got home and he smelled the cat carrier I had her in. All kinds of yowling and wanting to go outside ... actually attacked my foot when I attempted to push him away from the door so The Woman could come in.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.

Irv,

Glad to hear your pooch survived her recent encounter.

RS, I'm sure very shortly your new little kitty will show you nothing but affection, knowing that the expensive doctor's visit where she was lavished with the best of care has made her the great little cat she is. Now just keep her out of the aquarium! My, that could make for some funny opportunities. Cats can fish quite well...
RNG, oh yes and when the last load of stone is brought in and I can get that semi demolished little bridge off my property, and repair the water diversion ditch, then I will even sigh a bigger sigh of relief. These folks do not tread lightly.
Mostly, it's funny really, my first job out of college was in institutional feeding, a food service director serving three hundred people two meals a day. One of the things taught before they shipped me out was how to do parties, steam table layouts, traffic flow, theme dinners, ad nauseum. I lasted all of nine months. My best friend, whose father was number three at Saga Food Service lasted a year. Terrible 80 hour a week job for someone thrown into a failing account with a drunk cook who had to be fired the first day when he came at me with a chef's knife. And here I was a pompous little twit all of 21 years old, in a suit, thinking to myself as this guy is advancing on me, was this some kind of crazy test? No....sadly. But even despite this nonsense and why I left the company and went into insurance, which was my lifelong anchor, I remembered how to do parties. And my late wife, when she was well enough, adored parties so I got some practice. It's been five years since the last one and I'm ready. Luckily I've never been much of a drinker so throwing parties meant I could focus on the food. And like many others here, i like to cook.
In fact, time for me to go cook some shrimp.
