Any estimates as to how much rain you guys will need, over what timeframe, to get back to normal?

Haven't seen the weather guessers make that estimate yet, but just tonight there was one on TV saying that we've only got about 2/3 the amount of rain that we had last year at this time. But last year was pretty wet for December, and it basically stopped raining in January and February, so there's still time to have at least a normal year if it can just keep coming in at a few inches a week. Fingers crossed! ptimist::raincloud:

Good morning! A frosty 32˚ heading to 62˚ and mostly sunny. I have never moved round bales with my grapple. Today I will try as I take the tractor on a road trip. My Dad usually uses a tumble buggy and the spear on the back of his tractor. I'll see today if the box blade is enough counter weight or if I need to put on the BH.

It looks like we are heading to a beautiful Christmas Eve day but a rainy Christmas Day - both days reaching the 70˚s.

32 right now along with snow flurries. Going to be a chilly 34 today with snow showers, but no accumulation expected.

Got a guy coming over to look at my Woods snow blower. It's a nice unit and has served me well, but I'd like a snow blower that is QH compatible with a hydraulic chute. So, if he likes what he sees (it's rigged to the tractor so he can see it work), and makes a reasonable offer...well, we'll see...

If he does buy it, I'd like to replace it with another Woods...I really like their implements.

Good morning. No frosts here. Overnight was 14C/57F. Would be real pleasant, if only it would stop raining.

Today is not my birthday, nor am I sick, so hard to explain why my wife got up early and brought me a cup of tea. It could just be love, or is there more to this that I haven't yet cottoned on to ?


Farmer, the level indicator should take out a lot of the guess work. I find it useful with bale spikes too, makes it easy to return to level and pull out after lifting a soft bale.

Good Morning. 0540, clear, 34F with 88% humidity. Forecast high of 58F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 36 tonight. Fall has finally arrived at the Larro Ranchero, just in time for Winter to start next week. We have planned our little office Christmas party for Tuesday in the cookshed. Looking ahead I see there is a 96% chance of thunderstorms that afternoon. But at least it will be 70F,

I'm too far behind to read all the posts, so hello to everyone. After this weekend things will slow down at work for me. Maybe I will be more social. Or I might just stay at the camp even more.

Mornin' everone, Well we have our first frost of the year with it being 30 out and it is heading to 64 this afternoon which is still cold to us Florida boys.

Don, why do you need a counter balance? Granted I use a spear and not a heavy grapple but my tractor is much smaller and have no problem moving, unloading, stacking, or feeding round bales.

RNG, I was reading the weather predictions yesterday for Jan-Mar. Basically said the south will be wetter and colder than normal, the North will be dryer and warmer than normal. Not sure where you fit in that?

chilly willy in Eastern NC, 32 degrees and only going up to high 30's today.
My head elf helped me last night get things ready for tonight's party, and a serious toothache that was threatening to send Santa to the drill has thankfully
sort of disappeared, so all systems are go. And it's cold enough to make a fire later this afternoon which I am really looking forward to.
Going to be a busy but fun day; tomorrow hope to post some good pics of me playing Santa.
