How many illegals have been reporting flying too close to aircraft?
If they fly into my air space,, what's left, will belong to me !I wonder how soon after the law takes full effect, some camera toting drone is going to crash and cause personal or property damage, and they're going to use the video footage to find the drone's pilot because he runs away because it isn't registered?
If someone is going to do something illegal with one, registration laws will do nothing to stop them.
Well, I think the idea is supposed to be if an accident happens with the drone causing some kind of damage or loss of life, they want someone to pin it on for criminal charges and civil recompense. As an example, if a piloted aircraft crashed into your barn and killed your prized heifer, but the pilot ran away unhurt, how would you know who to sue? The registration number on the aircraft would be the place everyone would start.
And to your point, if someone had some intentional ill intent with their drone, agreed they sure are not going to register it.

No laws stop anyone from doing anything, if you think about it, so why have any laws???
If you don't have laws you can't prosecute anyone for any act regardless of what it was.
