Another issue that I would like to see discuss more when an OP asks for advice, is the issue of value for your money.
For example, one of our fellow TBNers recently was asking about whether he should get a Kubota BX25 versus a B2650. The price difference is about $10,000, taxes included. So then he needs to know, what does he get for the extra $10,000? There is of course the subjective matter of the "feel" of the two tractors as you sit on and or drive them. However there is the much more technical matter of how much does the FEL lift, how powerful is the backhoe, what is the swing arc of the backhoe, how deep does it dig, how "tippy" the two tractors are, etc. etc. etc. To just say that you need a bigger tractor, or that the smaller one is enough, doesn't tell the real story. Lots of times a bigger tractor or more HP doesn't really give you that much more in performance if you look at the specs. (Take the B 2650 versus the B 3350, for example. The FEL specs and the backhoe specs are the same on both tractors, so you're basically left with a little faster speed and more power to the power take off. Well, if you're running a Bush Hogg or a post hole auger, or a wood chipper, that increased horsepower may be very important to you, but for most people it isn't.)
And yes it is SO much fun spending other People's Money!
