I see what you mean in your video on this blower. The auger would be better at pushing snow than the currently available blowers (I have a Land Pride). I wonder why they changed the design—maybe to cut cost?

McKee was making those augers before plasma cutters, water jets, or lasers where available. I think they used several large stamping machines which today would remain super expensive. Anyway, to avoid the machine time, and lower manufacturing cost, the augers tend to be made as a stripe of metal.

I read on a Deere forum of a guy who claims the McKee/John Deere/New Idea blowers are as good as everything available on the market. I don't know yet as our warm winter has truly been a very warm winter (off-setting last years super cold winter) and we've had rain, but little snow to try out the McKee and make a video of it working. What I did find video wise put a smile on my face:

That McKee blower has to be well-built to handle an engine like that. We have had zero snow in Ohio this year (66F out now), so I have not had a chance to try mine either. You living up north, and out in the wild, probably need a McKee-style blower—good snow insurance anyway.

Nowhere near enough to consider blowing snow, but I plowed into my property to maintain access to my container and burn piles.

I estimate that I've picked up 1/3rd of the windfalls on the new parcel.

I have two burn piles going right now with endless feeder piles getting shoved in. This is what 2:00AM Sunday morning looks like right now.

Anyway, DDT414, I have not installed the new air seat. Instead of a Grammar 8o series air seat with 4" of travel, I have 4 new gas caps, two new rear fenders, two new cab tops, and boat load of extra metal guards, and whatever else that you and I can refer to as my "air seat fund."

I wish I had the air seat and I'm still wired for it.

My point looking at it from the south:

All along the shoreline I have dead logs.

That said, I made a video walking from the frozen beach on the point walking east to the road I made with the tractor.

Installing that seat would be very easy.

Unrelated, I got around to showing more about how the Hiniker Big Ox plow articulates plowing an extremely uneven surface.

Installing that seat would be very easy. All aftermarket seats assume a 11.25" W x 11"D mounting hole on a flat surface. The NX cab floor would require fabrication of a "shim" to create the flat floor.

Thanks for the info. Making a shim sounds pretty simple. I'll study this some more and read some reviews.
