I agree!
I can't imagine what they buy them for in China to allow both teams Pacific and transport Continental shipping of a bulky heavy grapple and still make money selling them for under a grand.
Interesting. So Titan, unlike most grapples, really are imported from China. I imagine Titan, the U.S. marketing company, has some say in design and materials. Not unlike most every other Chinese import company Titan can either have high standards (think Costco) or low standards (think WallyWorld, KMart, HF). I've never seen a Titan implement so don't really know where on the spectrum they fit. However, if I am not mistaken, wasn't it Titan that was making a light duty grapple using 1/8" square tube rather than the standard 1/4" tube? As I recall at least one TBNer managed to crush the top tube on his grapple when he pushed against a tree with the upper jaw open. That is not a smart thing to do but clearly the 1/8" top tube was not up to the abuse. I don't recall anyone with a U.S. made grapple that all seem to use 1/4" tube ever failing in that way.

Thanks for the correctionI believe the 1/8" square tube was a low end Wildcat grapple.
Brought a load of fir to the sawmill today. Every time I do this I remember back when I used to load with chains. :yuck:

It's finally my turn to join the fun. Just got the bucket grapple from MIE this week for my little Kioti.
