Kind of frustrated...Looking on tractor house, seems most listings are "Call for Price"
When you call, they take your info, but don't call you back!
I received two prices out of 6 dealers. I guess Ill have to beg a dealer to take my cash!
Ive even contacted that Barlows..No response!

I don't even bother with crap like that. If all they have to offer is bad stock photos of their tractors and sometime even bad/wrong info they are not worth my time/dime. They can go pound sand.

Call for price means I skip the ad.

"that" Barlows which you refer to has suffered due to a great reputation, good service, honesty and outstanding prices. Because of that they became swamped.

Before I bought my M4700 at an auction in 2013 I was dealing with Brady and had almost settled on an L4630 for about $16K which included delivery to my land in Mississippi. They took the time to go back and forth about several tractors in emails.

But since then, and possibly because so many here recommended them, it seems they have cut back on their "internet" sales.

Try Iron Planet.

. . . . .

I know that as of April of 2015 Brady was very responsive and helpful. But you calling doesn't put you at the head of the line. If you're the type who want immediate results . . or have short patience . . then you probably will be much happier walking into dealerships directly.

As an example . . right about now many dealers are busy at Farm Shows. And while lots of people can answer the phone at the dealerships . . only a very few (sales person) can quote bids and prices . . and those are the ones at the shows.

I'm a dealer, we do that because every person does not get the same price. If you trade in, price different. If you dont have good credit, price different. If you pay cash, price different. If you finance, price different.

Hard to include all that in one price.

It is a bait / trap operation . They count on people that know nothing tractorwise and hope you will send the $$$$$ . Then you get gouged for shipping .The NET is a haven for crooked MFS .

I'm grasping to recognise the logic of your post.

1. Someone who knows nothing about tractors . . how would they know about TractorHouse then?

2. "Bait and Switch" . . then by your theory . . every car and truck dealer is the same because every ad they do is a call for price. And motorcycle dealers and stv and snowmobile dealers etc. etc..

3. According to your post people just "send in big chunks of money for items sight unseen" . My my your logic seems very emotional and assumptive rather than objective. . . do you have any personal awareness of you or others doing that?

This is my problem with dealers. Price and cost are 2 different things.

1. My trade in should have NO effect on the price of the tractor. If having a trade in makes the price of the tractor fluctuate, I'll go somewhere else.
2. My credit should have NO effect on the price of the tractor. My credit score should only change the interest rate, not the price of the tractor.
3. If you want to give me a discount for paying cash (or for financing) fine. That's a "rebate" and doesn't/shouldn't be listed in the price. If you want, give something in the description "Rebates available for cash purchase" or vise versa.

I recently went against my better judgement and contacted a dealer that had the tractor I was looking for listed on tractorhouse. By email, I asked for the price. They told me, "Sure, just give us a call". Well, I was in the area one day and physically went to the dealer. Well... they didn't really have the tractor, there was another dealer that they could get it from 3 states away. No thanks, I'll just contact the other dealer.

There you go , 4 prices on a machine . And you are not making any money on the trade in , you are doing them a favor ? What do you care about credit , are you financing ? Send me your lending institution info . Kevin .

So if I come in to pay cash for a tractor your going to charge differently based on my credit score? If that is the case I would expect a huge discount on the price for my 815 credit score.

Regarding Kubota, they only allow dealers to advertise MSRP pricing on 3rd party websites. Dealers tend to "self police" other dealers, and advertising below MSRP will earn a dealer a phone call from Kubota very quickly. And as we all know, MSRP is meaningless to quote.

Even a listed price is usually negotiable. So why not put a price? Usually it's too high, that's why. Or maybe put another way, it's not a real bargain that would attract a buyer.

Anyone know how many dealers go out of business each year?
Anyone know how many start each year?
I know there have been two dealers in my area that I did business with that I did not like and I guess others had the same feelings because the dealers have gone out of business.

Shouldn't be too hard to specify "Cash Price" so nobody gets confused.

The few tractors I've been interested in on TractorHouse haven't been "negotiable" at all as far as price goes. The prices are a little high but the dealers seem to be firm on the pricing. I've seen some of the same tractors on that site for over a year now and that's expensive for the price TH charges to list.

You'd like to think so, but confusion is a daily occurrence even when things are spelled out in bold lettering. If we dont have different prices for different situations we will loose some of the time.

For an explanation before everyone gets upset further, see below.

Each machine on the yard has a bottom dollar price. However, anything above this is dependent on several factors. If you have a trade, you usually dont get as good of a deal on the machine, we make our money on the trade and not on the machine. If you have bad credit, you arent going to get as good of a deal on the machine, we have to incur the risk of lending a tractor to you and then you default on the loan and then we have to repo a used tractor. If you are paying cash, you get the rebate. If you are financing, you dont get the rebate.

If you guys think its just easy to give everyone in every situation the same price, you are sorely mistaken. Its just not that simple. Every customer gets treated with honesty and respect at our dealer, but every customer with every situation may not get the same price.
