You have two eyes, two arms, two legs, two loader arms, two head lights, and everyone needs at least two tractors. Two is obviously better than one.

How many thumbs do you have on your right hand????:D

First you said you can transport the load with a set of forks (no lids), now you need two? :D

One lid is the minimum, two is excessive in many (but not all) situations. I can move any log pile faster with my one lid grapple than with my two lid grapple, any day. I have both and speak from experience.

Just one. How many thumbs do you have total? I have one lid on the left side of the grapple, and one lid on the right side of the grapple.

No need to stabilize a single load twice.

I could transport the load with no lid, but I would have to take a couple attempts at getting it balanced and if I bump into another tree it knocks it off. Please post pictures of both of you grapples. Very likely a biased comparison.

Can you drive two tractors at once? No need to stabilize a single load twice.
I have seen a YouTube video of a guy plowing a large field with several small tractors. He ran between tractors and turned them around at the end of the row.

That would be cool to see. Here is my little used dual lid when spankin' new. I don't have a pic of my single lid handy.

Are you talking about whole logs or cut firewood?

The tines on that grapple are too long and reduce your lift capacity and breakout force. That is more like a skid steer grapple.

I like the grapple. It looks like it would work great for moving lots of brush or cut firewood. I don't need lots of breakout force on a grapple.

Not a skid steer grapple but it served well for the purpose I bought it for, but to your point, a narrow grapple with properly sized tines and single lid is the bomb.

I keep hearing about the superior breakout force of these narrow single lid grapples but most of them have long tines. I'd rather have a wide grapple, dual lids, and shorter tines. Plus how much does a couple of extra tines on a grapple reduce breakout force.

I find most of my breakout force is generated by my wheels when using the grapple. I push trees over, then hook their roots and if I can't pull them out with the lift or curl, I'll push on the bottom edge of the root ball again with the whole force of the tractor. Once I get a tree past 45 degrees, it's coming out whole.

I'll lift, curl, and push or pull all at the same time.

I just want a dam grapple!

If I can't get it to budge with the hydraulics, I'd rather have the cylinders locked by the spools and acting as solid links than working against the pressure relief valve.

I simply can NOT understand, why some people just continue to push a single style grapple just because it's worked for them and they're circumstances. There is one person on this forum who has tirelessly persevered to convince people that one standard single lid 48" grapple is the best just because it works for 99% of his situation, then there are a handful of followers to jump on the wagon to back it up. It's as if it's just a convenient way to enter into a debate, and no matter what the subject would be, these people would debate just for the sake of it.

I'm really trying to keep this thread from becoming "just another" grapple debate thread. There are plenty of those.

Guys, if one piece of equipment works for others, why does that bother you SO much? Why do you just HAVE to point out that a different piece of equipment can do the same job? If I have a wider grapple with 2 lids, and it works for me and my circumstances, so what? If you are happy with a narrower grapple with one lid, then so what? I'm happy for you that you can go out there and be proud of a job you've accomplished using what you have. Why do we have to try to convince each other that what works well for us, is better for you?

I would like to keep this thread on track. I don't think we need to constantly repeat the same thing that has been repeated over and over on this forum.

Ideally, we can all just be happy that each of us is contributing photos to this thread, whether it's a bucket grapple, heavy duty grapple not ideally situated to CUT's, a giant loader grapple, excavator grapple, who cares.
If nothing else, let's agree to disagree, there is nothing wrong with that. But let's please just keep the discussion about "what grapple is better" to the other hundreds, if not thousands of threads on TBN.

Now, I know I'm not a moderator or anyone who is any more important than anyone else on this forum, so I have no right to tell anyone what they can and can't post, I'm just asking out of respect for the original intent of this thread, to please follow the request posted in the very first post of this thread.....

I found myself posting a bunch of pics of my grapple over on another thread, and realized I love posting pics of it, so I figured I would start a thread for grapple pics.
I'll try to post more and more pics of my 'grappling fun' as time goes on. However, since it seems grapples are getting more and more popular and people are using them for more and more jobs, I encourage anyone else to post your "grappling fun" pics as well
Only rule of the thread.....no arguing about what type, make, size or anything is better/worse....:D
