Thanks twister, this sounds almost exactly what i am thinking. I have some short pieces of L2 x 2 angle to use for the pieces to attached to the sides of the bucket and have some 2" tube steel that might work for the tooth pockets. Photos would be great. I appreciate all your ideas!

radair: as promised (but a little late-sorry) here are the pics of the two grader blades I built for the hoe...front and back....the pockets are actually on the shorter blade and not the longer one as I had previously stated....instead of pockets, I just welded a piece of angle iron which basically serves the same purpose of an enclosure for the teeth....hope this helps....free free to ask if you have any questions....twister

P.S. Please ignore the two short lengths of pipe welded onto the long blade....that is part of a failed experiment :shhh:

Okay I'll come clean...this was my first means of fastening the blade to the hoe bucket....if you can picture the shorter blade already installed on the bucket and a pair of mating pipe pieces welded on....the long blade would then just sit on top of the short one with a 5/8 steel rod run through all pipes once they were lined up....kinda like a hinge....this was supposed to make alternating between the short and long blade easier and quicker....unfortunately it could not take the torque of and force exerted on it by the scraping action..lasted about 2 minutes before it broke off....that's why I simply welded on the flat bar "arms" to tie onto the sides of the bucket, same as the short one....takes longer to swap over but it has withstood all the torture I've thrown at it thus far...that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!! :eek:ath: ...twister
