Why not use the Kioti?

The R4's on the Kioti aren't very good in the snow. And the little JD with all-wheel steer is just way easier to maneuver. I can plow sideways with it. And because it is small, it fits everywhere. Years ago when the dealer delivered the Kioti he remarked that I could retire the Deere for snow now that I had the Kioti. I immediately said, "No way. That little Deere will plow circles around the bigger tractor" . Now if I had long roads to do, the Kioti would be better because of the blade width (backblade). But the standard loader for snow is just about useless. I did have a 5.5' snow blower on the Kioti for awhile. The JD with blade is just a way better set up for my tight spaces. Sold the blower.

Man I wish I could use a lawn tractor for 32" of snow! nice work.

I'm starting to think that snow must vary by region as it takes heavy equipment to dig out 32" of snow around here.

Yeah, depends on the temperature. Had this been a wet snow (warmer weather), no way I could have moved 32". Normally, I plow every 12-18" inches. But the blizzard this time made that hard to do. I won't say it was easy. But the Deere got it done. It's pretty darn fast too.

Somewhat. I did my driveway at 24", and then again with another 24" after drifting and more snow. but the Culdesac (~150 feet) was the full 32". Because it was dry I was able to push it pretty far straight ahead. Then split it left and right. Still quite a bit of work, making room up front so I had a place to put what was behind.

I did similar work with my x749 day after Christmas, we had just over 24 inches and pushed 3 driveways and the end of the cul de sac. The mower was a lot easier to trailer across town in the deep snow.

What's the biggest bucket you've used? I've seen SSQA buckets up to 108" wide, 40+ inches deep and ~40 inches high. It's like a pusher with the option to pick the pile up

Have dropped the bucket idea for a 7' Western plow. Mounts on the front frame with my own quick hitch design. Drop the FEL off.

Size is relative. In this case the size is perfect: fits just about anywhere yet pushes like much bigger tractors It's a little Tasmanian devil!
