Good Morning! 43F @ 7:00 AM. Cloudy with a few showers. High 51F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
Much to my surprise and delight we got almost 1.2" yesterday, a little over what was predicted. A little bit fell in the morning, but the clouds closed in by late afternoon and a steady drizzle started. A few heavier showers passed through, and by midnight that had made up almost 3/4". Not much due in today, and it looks like the only chance for more is Tuesday and that's only a shower. Then clear again at least through next weekend.
When I was in town Thursday I swung by a butcher shop that came highly recommended for its bratwurst. I ended up with packages of their "fresh" and smoked brats, the fresh ones frozen. The gal there said that's the only way that they can keep the fresh ones fresh. :confused2: Anyway, I cooked one each on the BBQ last night for dinner, and they were both delicious. German motorcycles and brats go hand in hand, and I think I know just what'll be on the lunch menu for the wrench fest I'm hosting here in April.
The brats were accompanied by a nice red table wine called Ménage à Trois, a blend of mostly Zinfandel with some Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Very nice berry flavor, even jammy, very smooth and no sign of that typical Zinfandel tannin bite. I had a bottle the week before and Thursday brought home a case. It's so rare to find a wine with this much flavor at $8, I just might have to bring home another case next week.
Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!
