Its in the 60s down here in Southern Indiana. I think the bugs are going to be bad this year.

Me too Rob, cutting next years wood. This little ex military trailer is how I move the wood (from thinning) up to where I "work it up". I find it better to put wheels on the wood, I do skid it out of the woods to a landing, but this was harvested in fall and dragging it on my roads is hard on them. With very little snow here, I'll be back in the woods and leave the rest of what I have down on the landing for if or when it snows enough to keep me out of the woods.

That looks like a great setup you have there! Did you build the cab frame/FOPS?

Don't try backing this train up.

Thanks Matt, yes I made the front posts and butchered up a engine hood off on old Cat D-6 for the roof. There's no "cab" but I did put a sheet of plexiglass on the front a few weeks ago to help keep the wind off. Along with my hillbilly side panels made out of lumber wrapping and a few magnets to "stick" the lumber wrap on the fenders.:cool2:

Looks good enought to take Ellie Mae for a ride on the fender

Been looking for an opportunity to get in the woods for a while... pulled in some deadfall locust. Some got cut into firewood, some into 7' fence post, some will get sawn into boards.

Waiting for a trip to the sawmill. Long thin ones will be stored for future pole building timbers.

Was needing to haul tractor and wood on the trailer. So I built some sides out of scrap 2x4s and made them roughly quarter length of the trailer. Which is 26 feet long at the dovetail. Nothing extravagant, but this was the first load and seemed to work fine. Probly gonna extend them a little. I was traveling a very short distance or I would have put straps on to secure. LUTT

I hung them out there as much for front ballast as to keep them outta the mud if I drug them behind. I had left the railroad track I use for ballast on the box blade, in hind sight, I should have taken it off before today's adventures.
