Its in the 60s down here in Southern Indiana. I think the bugs are going to be bad this year.
Me too Rob, cutting next years wood. This little ex military trailer is how I move the wood (from thinning) up to where I "work it up". I find it better to put wheels on the wood, I do skid it out of the woods to a landing, but this was harvested in fall and dragging it on my roads is hard on them. With very little snow here, I'll be back in the woods and leave the rest of what I have down on the landing for if or when it snows enough to keep me out of the woods.
That looks like a great setup you have there! Did you build the cab frame/FOPS?
Thanks Matt, yes I made the front posts and butchered up a engine hood off on old Cat D-6 for the roof. There's no "cab" but I did put a sheet of plexiglass on the front a few weeks ago to help keep the wind off. Along with my hillbilly side panels made out of lumber wrapping and a few magnets to "stick" the lumber wrap on the fenders.:cool2:
Hey dieselcrawler, thanks for the tip on how to carry small logs off my bucket! :drink:
