Poured first cup of coffee. 49° with partly skies this morning. Heading to 54° with partly cloudy skies and wind. Winter has come back to AZ. Couple of rain storms came thru just before midnight. High winds and lighting. Looks like things are scattered on patio. But have not been out to check. Good day to stay inside.
txdon, a relay could make noise. Not as likely on the switch. Glad you are getting Farmal back together. Are there grease fitting on tie rod ends?
Drew, I have a couple of Variable Annuities from big companies. Every few months I get mail asking me if I will take a buyout. Not going to happen.

51 now going to 78 today. Rain coming Thursday, of course the vet is coming to float a horses teeth. Girl came by to look at the horse yesterday, but decided she wasn't big enough. She wanted to buy my Draft, but not for $700 Honey, that one will cost you $4 Grand. Going after square bales today, so back will be hurting tonight. We are trying to get the garden area prepped and spread manure and nasty hay over the area which gave me a couple of hours of tractor time. Got to grease the Kubota up.

My wife is my financial adviser, and she keeps telling me I am worth more dead than alive... Hmmm? Actually we both are, either dies and everything is paid for.

Buckeye, That is a nice feeling isn't it? Makes you want to puff your chest out.

One other source for tough outdoor clothing that I've had success with before is with those made for boat crews. Some of those are well made, with a style that seems to be made to work in instead of just for walking.

In the US, the Carhart brand is popular with constructions and farmers. Don't know if it's an international brand though. The outer shell is a tough, water resistant canvas that covers layers of batting for insulation, the thickness of which varies with the garment. Very durable; my dad used one when hunting quail and pheasant through thorny brush.

Yes, both sides. Grandpa had a small garden so I guess he did more turning than anything.

Oh, Kyle, Whipper chooses not to be exploited by doing silly dog tricks. She only has 2 jobs, chasing wildlife and cows out of the yard and running with the utility cart.

43 this morning and headed to 57 today. A tenth of a inch of rain last night.

Have to go see allergy doctor this morning. First visit. I've been having problems with congestion and ear and sinus infections. Then back and hope I have feed to put down so I can start preheating tomorrow.

Dads tractor "HUMMMM" sounded like it was coming from the dash not by the starter motor so I'm thinking it was a stuck switch. But what on a switch would make a loud HMMMM sound? Do stuck relays Hummm?

Yep, they sure do. Especially if the points are a little burnt, which they would be if they tend to stick.

37F @ 5:30AM. Plenty of sunshine. High 54F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Woke up this morning to 66F temps in the house. A cold front came through in the night bringing blustery winds and really cooling things off. We had a nice sunny morning yesterday with mild temperatures, and I was able to get started sawing up one of the downed trees. Pinched the bar and bent a few of the teeth on the chain, and by the time I got that sorted out the ominously black and towering clouds that had been accumulating seemed all headed my way. Soon fat drops of rain were splatting around me, then it started coming down as hail. I had my hard hat on to use the sound deadening earmuffs, so just kept going for a while. By the time I stopped I had white shoulders, and not from dandruff!

An hour later the sun was back out, then it rained/hailed again, so I stoked the stove, had an early dinner, and got some computer work done. Watched an "American Experience" episode on the Coal Wars that took place in the early part of the 20th century in West Virginia. The 2 hour show described steadily worsening conditions over almost 60 years of worker abuse that finally led to armed battles and lots of blood between the coal companies and the unions that were just starting back then. The coal companies eventually won, and it wasn't until OSHA and government reforms in the 70s and 80s that the miners lives got much better. Back in the Coal War times, though, life wasn't much better than slavery.

Good Morning. 0810, overcast, 56F with 91% humidity. Forecast high of 77F with a 20% chance of rain today, and a low of 60F tonight.

I just got in from the camp a little while ago. Got a call from Margie saying she had hit a deer with her '15 Prius on the way to work this morning. Not damaged too bad, and we do have a good paint and body man. A few years back Margie also got one with her '05 Prius. I see a pattern starting to form.

Today is a good day for pruning trees. The grapevine on the dog fence is most in need of a hair cut, but I will work on all the trees between the house and the graveyard. I stopped by the old house and clipped a few more tips off the Apple Persimmon trees to try to root. I wish my 5 gallon bucket clone machine was finished. I guess I will just use a couple of air bubblers for now.
