Good morning!!!!

all's well that ends well, but boy am I tired.
Used the entire load of ABC and likely mounded a little high on one end and maybe a little low on the other, but
time to let the rain settle it a little. Then add "ends".

gutter guys just finishing, I'm so headed for the hot tub after they get out of here. Shoveling stone (yeah I missed a little on one end...sigh, had to clean it up)
is for the young and strong...

Gravely and roller did a great job smoothing things out again.

Don (and Co.),

Still tickin' right along ... and no predatory fish have gotten me yet ...

Just been very busy. Appreciate the thoughts and concern tho' ...

Got new phones, so finally have a halfway decent camera.

It's still a work-in-progress, background still unfinished:

That is a nice aquarium.
Thanks Kyle.

Should look a little better ... once I get the background done and get it installed.

Right now just focusing on getting plants (and the fish) thriving and growing well, and propagating them.

I stuck about 10 drops of Kleen-Strip Phosphoric Acid in the tank back when I was doing the fishless cycling with ammonia ... dunno if that helped, but the plants seem to be doing well ... a good bit of new leaf and root growth.

One of the Anubias, which I divided off the original plant:

Those lucky fish.
LOL ...

Well, judging by how fat all their little bellies are, they shouldn't have too many complaints ... ;)

The homemade fish food ended up being a popular item.

It looks bigger than a 60 gal???
Just a regular ol' Perfecto 55g ... 48" long x 12" deep x around 20" (?) tall ...

RS. Do you have any soil/media for the plants? Or just rocks?
Any currents for the fish or just still water?

farmer,

When I set it up it was just gravel. Any "soil" that's in there now has been contributed by the fish ... ;)

Any currents for the fish or just still water?
I have a Marineland Magnum 330 (330 gph canister filter) plumbed into the undergravel filter system in a reverse-flow configuration. IOW, the water gets filtered by the Magnum 330 first (that white sponge is on the Magnum 330's intake), and then gets pumped under the undergravel filter plates, and comes up thru the gravel.

The idea being to push the stuff that needs filtered out up into the water column and avoid having the UGF and gravel become a nitrate factory, due to accumulating fish waste and uneaten food.

It has the carbon canister in it, which is filled with lava rock, for biological filtration.

(Personally, I'm thinking I might need a pump with a higher rating (more gph's) to really keep the crud from settling and working it's way into the gravel. Considering a Danner "Supreme" Model 7 Mag Drive pump ... which should get me into the range of 500 to 700 gph, depending on the actual head height.)

Beyond the Magnum 330, I also have a Magnum 200 (200 gph) that I'm running the Micron Polishing Filter in, along with diatomaceous earth. It needs cleaned fairly often (about every week), since it filters so well ... otherwise the flow drops off to nothing. I have yet to clean the Mag 330 ... it's been running for probably a month now, so it's probably due.

As far as currents goes, the Mag 200's outlet/return to the tank is near the top and has directional diverter that causes the water to spray across the top of the surface of the water ... which is enough to push fish to the opposite end of the tank. Plus there are a couple of air stones in the tank on either end as well.

So yeah, there are some currents.

He tried to scam me - Or - do I look like a Doctor, I'd go with the first.

I was in a coffee shop in Austin this afternoon with my wife, a very friendly large black man in kaki clothes came up to the table and introduced himself and ask if I remember him from work that he used to clean the office. I did not, but he did look like someone I arrested so I was scanning my memory and started focusing on one case. I soon realized he was not providing enough information to jar my memory, then he started talking about being in town for his daughter funeral I did not let him off topic of how I might know him. My wife asks where he lived and she was fast on her smartphone while I questioned him at which office of mine he cleaned. When he said South I asked which South office he said SW -too vague- I asked him directly what did he think I did for a living, he said a DR. (Wrong guess.) I said you have me confused with someone else and he quickly dismissed himself, meanwhile my wife verified his street name was not in the town where he said he lived.

Us old folk have to be on our toes all the time.

One thing that was a give away, I noticed he never told me information about myself or work type or location. He just gave info about himself.

RS, I'm so glad you are still alive, I need some advice from you. I have a rusty trailer that needs repainting. What is the best chemical way to prep it, or should I just get with it with sandpaper?

Nice Aquarium. Can't wait to see the backdrop added!
