Love trains. I just don't have the time to build the layout. My son does train layouts virtual, on the computer.

Good morning. I've been out with Dog, then quickly came back in again as I didn't have chance to get out for a replacement waterproof jacket yesterday. Now I'm waiting for the rain to ease off a little before I go put more hay out. At least it's weekend, so I don't feel too bad at taking my time and being shy of a few drop of rain.

I have some exciting news about my niece to give the Morning Group, but because of contractual things I have to wait till Monday to post on a social media.

That's so cruel to make us wait all weekend to find out - or are we expected to have a guess ?

Ok then ...

Is she bringing out her own brand range of alligator skin bags, shoes and phone covers ? ;)

Too young for an autobiography, so it's got to be she has a TV crew following her 'gator adventures, maybe even a whole series ? You can deny it all on Monday.

Randy,
Yeah I did a lot of buy and flips to. I will try to post a video of my latest creation. A 200 series Lionel B-unit with twin motors, They never made them so I thought why not. Kind of gives you a view of the layout. Not sure but you may be able to see others of it. Anything listed as myssei94 should be of our stuff. I don't want to get off track here or get in trouble for doing train and not tractor stuff.

Great layout. I saw a couple of cranes, so definitely qualifies for the forum :).

22 heading to 47...already a great deal of frost on everything.

Kinda wish it would stay below freezing for a couple of days - need the ground to stay frozen so I don't make ruts in the soggy ground when I go cut firewood.

30 degrees going up to 51 today and it seems that another bout of rain is coming in tomorrow.
All the local farmers are grumbling "can't get out in the fields for a week now" overhead at Napa.

Plumber coming this morning to install whole house water filtration system. I looked at Pelican systems but my usage
is too small for one of their big units. So I got a medium sized unit online with three filters, sediment, iron and charcoal. Supposed to last one year or 100K gallons. Since I use about 3-4K gallons a month, looks like an annual affair to replace the cartridge filters, which are about twice the size as the most common small water filters.

Luckily when the prior owner built this house he ran all the outside spigots off one separate line so I can avoid filtering all the water going outside the house. When I redid my bathrooms I chose that dark bronze color for fixtures and now I have sediment/water spots on all the fixtures. City water too but they sure aren't filtering it very well. My only concern is that with just me in the house, if I filter the chlorine out, and water sits in the guest bathroom lines for a month or two, will crud start growing? I always periodically flush the guest bathroom toilets but maybe adding a drop of bleach to the toilet tank occasionally would do the trick. Or put one of those little chemical hangers in the tank.

I'm in the same boat!!! My Mossflower Woods has become Soggy-weed Marsh it seems. Everything is squishy and waterlogged. I'm not even gonna try to put the tractor back in the barn or take the snow plow off Trusty Rusty Ranger... I need to cut some more rounds for splitting & stacking by the basement door. I ran the wood stove for a solid month and man did I burn plenty of wood!

I let the wood stove fire go out Tuesday because of the warm weather (actually the house was getting too hot) and now the heat pump has run constantly since yesterday evening & all night long... I'm debating firing up the stove, but I want to watch the game tomorrow in the basement on the big TV... Don't want it too cold down there, don't want it too hot either... Sigh...

I'm roasting off the Chicken Wegs (I use legs, got way more meat than wings) so I can marinate them for at least 24 hours before finishing them on the grill and devouring them watching Football. Yum, Yum!

Later today we will meet again with the Modular Home guys to discuss if they can even come close to a floor plan we can tolerate to upgrade/replace the house here. The engineer in me can't stand it when they say "Can't do that" without explaining why.

I'm pretty much not happy with builders & the rest right now. They all want way too much $$ to do way too little, and everything seems to be an "Upgrade" now, including linoleum floors? Sigh...

Beats the alternative!

PS - What's the word on Bird?

Be well all,
David

Be careful of bleach in tank known to eat the rubber stopper at least it did in my case
