glad I'm not the only one that hears music, we live on a hill and sometimes I hear the thump of music while in my home office, but when I go to see where it is coming from I can't find it or even hear it outside drives me nuts.
Well, it COULD be just all in your head....

I hear bass sounds all of the time IN THE HOUSE. The sound can be airplanes, copters are really good for the sound, trucks, artillery fire , far off thunder, and a rumble we can't identify. :confused3:
We are a good hour or two away from Fort Bragg, but from time to time, we can here artillery fire from way down there. The Marines go to Bragg and fire off 155s which we seem to hear. Planes, but especially copters. will get me out of the house to see them fly by. I can hear them far before I can see them and I almost always go look. Trucks might get me out of the house because sometimes it sounds like they are AT the house.:laughing: I have heard thunder and gone outside to see flashes of lightning on the horizon. WAY off. Checking radar would show the thunderstorms where sometimes hundreds of miles away. Kinda freaky.
Then there is the rumbling sound. It sounds like a dump truck emptying a load of gravel AND the rumble of the artillery fire. :confused3: We here it from time to time but not at specific schedule. We heard it last Sunday for instance. There is a quarry 5-10 miles away and we wonder if we here them blasting. I could understand hearing a rumbling from the quarry but it is the gravely sound we hear that puzzles us. The sound goes on far longer than it takes to dump a load of gravel. Maybe the sound is from the Pallet Planter.....
The house must act like a drum/speaker because usually these sounds are more easily heard IN the house than outside. We are on a slab and I think that has something to do with the sound transmission. Higher frequency noises we do not hear in the house. Just the low frequency stuff.
When we lived in the city we had two "neighbors" who would play music with big bass. It was hard to hear the sound outside the house, but in our bed room it was like the speaker was right in the head board. The house was on a slab and the bedroom was nearest the two idiots.
