Oil & Fuel I hope I'm not the only one who's lost his fuel tank cap

I put it on the seat as well....I've lost it twice, both times it was found within 100 feet of the fuel barrel but out on the road....

If you don't buy a new cap, you will never find the old one. If you go buy a new one and install it, you will find the old one almost immediately.

So, if you buy one, never unpack it, and keep the receipt taped to it, that won't be good enough? It has to get dirty before the one shows?

Don't these fuel caps have a vent hole in them,,mine does, and it has a chain welded to it and the filler tube, couldn't loose it if I tried.

I had my fuel cap fall off the tractor - into the snow. Devil of a time finding it. Now, I put the cap in the pocket of my jacket. Not on the seat of the tractor - I get enough thrills, otherwise, every day.

I've lost mine on a bunch occasions. Fortunately each time I discovered it right where I left it, wedged between the seat and the fender. Don't understand why Kubota does not make a tethered fuel cap?

I checked on the Deere forum and none of us have misplaced our fuel caps.

Sorry, couldn't resist, glad you found yours.

Only Mahindra and Kubota owners lose their caps.

On my Kioti, I lay the cap by the fuel door which is on the top of the hood, right above the instrument panel so it is in your line of sight. You would not close the fuel door without putting the cap on the filler neck, and with the cap and the fuel door right in front of your face in your line of sight, I don't think I will ever drive off without putting the cap on and closing the door. If I do, I am sure I can then go ahead and hide my own easter eggs. :)

Ah-h-h tell the truth, you've driven off with the fuel nozzle still in the filler neck.
