Even though the components are not made in the USA any more I still try and support the home team. Keep Americans working by supporing american industries wherever they may be.

Down under in australia i also prefer to buy aussie made but with the cost of labour and the manufacturing sector pretty much moving off shore we have no other option than to buy from other countries.

I would buy a Chinese tractor, if I lived in a 3rd world country and had no money for anything better.

Even buying a 20 years old or gray market brand name machine is a better choice.

I've bought before Chinese ATVs, Gensets, and other stuff that I ended up scrapping or giving away after not much use as it needed constant attention (mostly small stuff, but annoying none the less).

i agree with you I've also come into contact with lots of chinese rubbish, tractors tools etc. but i feel that there has been much improvement especially the last 5 years. the chinese have really picked up their game, or the dealers here have i don't know. whatever it is - its working

The Chinese can build to whatever spec and qc level the buyer specifies, and wants to pay for.

Remember, some of the most advanced consumer electronics are made in china, you just don't get them at basement prices..

What are the other international brands being made outside of the smaller JDs? How long have you owned you tractor, hours and what type of work does it do?

Which small JD's are made in China? Yanmar makes some of the JD's but they are built in Japan.
