LED Garage Lights

I got these. You can plug one end into another light to make an 8 footer or even longer.

They are self contained and come with clips to mount.

I ordered one of these this morning for a trial. 110V AC 36W Cool Pure White LED E26 E27 E39 E40 Mogul Base Light Bulb | eBay

36 watts / 3600 lumens and bright white (6000-6500 K) should be brighter than a 250 watt incandescent bulb. I have several bulb sockets, about 12' above floor, in the side bays of my workshop. I have some 120 watt equivalent CFL day light flood lights there now but, they take a while to get bright and still don't produce as much light as I would like.

If a 60 watt light bulb is equivalent to a 6-8 watt LED this one, @ 36 watts, should be equivalent to 270-360 watt incandescent?

This should be a good improvement, if it works. Will report back later after its installed.

I have one of those cheapy pocket calculators with a solar cell.

Immediately noticed how much better it works under LED light...

Not scientific but very noticeable.

Was it cold when that was taken? There isn't nearly that big of a difference with mine.

Costco has the 4foot 2-tube LED shop lights now for $24.99. I bought 7 of them. VERY happy with their performance. They have a plugin and a pull-chain switch. They must be about 50% brighter than 4-ft Fluorescent tubes.

I've been using one (2 tubes) under my truck, on the ground, you sure can see every little part looking up. And no shadows. And the 'tubes' are plastic so if something falls on it....well I can't say how strong it is ....... but it's plastic.

Sodo, would you mind taking an AM radio and perhaps tune in between stations and start up one of these lights nearby. Or tune to a weak but readable station and repeat the experiment. I would like to know how much if any detectable Radio Frequency Interference that they put out. If you have a shortwave radio reciever nearby, (3 to 30 Mhz) that would be great to test with too. Thanking you in advance..

Every Cree bulb I have tested, does not seem to have any RFI.

I'm pretty sure you are safe from shattered glass!
