well i can't seem to find a direct link to your engine, i assume its the 902, based on that though i went to kubota site, no where does it list a requirement for synthetic, but says it can be used if it meets the requirements

Ventrac requires it. Also uses Amsoil in the trans.

My snowmobile recommends it so that's what I use. Simple.

i don't really have a point. People have indicated their equipment REQUIRES synthetic. i simply asked for a link to see the requirement. i personally have never seen a requirement for synthetic. i could careless what people use, i'm merely interested in seeing if something actually requires it. so far no one has provided a engine that requires it.

Many "rational choices" are not.

The handbook for the Kohler K582 "suggests strongly" to ONLY USE straight weight 30 motor oil.

The Kohler engineers would be rolling in their graves if the topic of "synthetics", was suggested. ;-)

Modern engines just don't wear out (even those made in the 70's) Store brand dino juice works fine for me. Diesel service where required!
