This only because of the low ash content, to keep from clogging the dpf, not because of better lubrication.

DPF only came in 09 and up. The oil spec was for the introduction of the high pressure injectors in the PD motors.

That conventional oils you use is about as great as that E85 you use LOL..
The only way he's able to to drive his rig xxx miles is because it probably holds 8 gallons of oil.. He has reserve oil.. Had he filled his oil with a quality synthetic.. He could surpass his oil change miles on his dino oil

Yeah, and the same oil goes into my Yamaha EF2000is portable generator, my JD Z445 mower, and my CUT. And there is a lot more to oil change cycles than the base oil. You have to follow trend lines in the oils samples to look for clues as to determining proper oil change intervals. And I generally go 50% longer than the OEM recommended drain intervals. So how is it that a full synthetic would change that and deliver as good or better cost benefit ratio? While I don't have one of the newer Detroits, how is it they can recommend a 50,000 mile / 2500 hr oil change interval on conventional oil with their new engines? And what does fuel have to do with anything. I don't use E85. I have from time to time when price differences have made it a benefit to do so, but I generally use regular E10 or E15 at the pump like everyone else. It is all about cost benefit. Try some effective debating and not the Donald Trump method.

Today, 2 things start a post war, oil and politics......

Amazing how the thread went from a Yamaha genny to everything else....lol

I have a Yamaha 2800 I, It's 15 years old and I have no idea how many hours are on it. It's always fed Rotella 5-40 Synthetic (like everything else I own thats internal combustion) and it too, starts on the first pull and runs like a top. I replaced the plug this year and I pulled the USFS approved steel wool spark arrestor years ago.

Less than a quart of oil per change, twice a year is inconsequential. It's powered 2 RV's, numerous drills and rode in the bucket of a tractor quite a bit for 110 volt field power. People rave about Honda Inverters, I'll stick with the Yamaha. Besides, I like blue over red. I'll never need another one. This one will be humming along when I pass....
